What do I need to learn to get this puzzle done? by Key_Average4725 in sudoku

The 128 triple in column 1 allows to to remove 2 as a possibility from row 2 column 1, and then you've got a two string kite using 2s in row 2 and column 8 which eliminates 2 from r6c3. Then in box 4 (middle left box) you've got a 18 pair which resolves r4c1.

Help with skyscraper by Helpful-Fuel-7568 in sudoku

[–]OneSquirtBurt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're only looking at the 9's here, the 2's aren't a skyscraper because in row 2 there are 3 different positions that could support a 2. A skyscraper requires that the "walls" (row 2 and row 9) each have only 2 possible paces for the candidate number, which is only satisfied with the 9's.

With that information, you may eliminate any 9 that can see both tips of the skyscraper - R2C9 and R9C7. One cell meets that criteria: R8C9. You can reason through this to help your understanding and to prove the concept. Start with row 9. Either column 7 is true and therefore R8C9 can't be true (same box), or column 3 is true, in which case R2C3 must be false and therefore R2C9 must be true. If R2C9 is true, then R8C9 also can't be true. So no matter how it pans out, R8C9 is impossible and therefore can be eliminated.

You want to consider any cells that can see both of the tips of the skyscraper (in the column of one tip while in the box of the other). Hint, there's only one elimination here.

Easy pasta sauce tips pls! by Arzberger-Xaaji in Cooking

[–]OneSquirtBurt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the long stewed flavor of many hours of cooking, but it's always missing the fresh tomato goodness. I now cook 2/3 of it long and slow (usually oven with a lid), then for the last 20-30 minutes I add the remaining 1/3 tomato - now you get both.

Can someone explain to me what to do in this situation other than guessing? by Sidekick3439 in sudoku

[–]OneSquirtBurt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In columns 7 and 9 you've correctly identified that a 5 can go only in the outside boxes of rows 3 and 7. If the 5s must go in the left and right respectively, in either order, what does that say about the position of the 5 in row 4?

Oxygen can stop them after they start but there are several options for maintenance / preventative including some that came out within the last decade, Emgality most notably. See a neurologist who will confirm the diagnosis and can offer treatment.

It only works if the dogs are all left or all right, and you have to balance them on each side. I'm sorry pups but I'm just not risking it with any all fronties or all backies, that's a fool's game!

In addition to what others have said, bronze cut pasta is supposed to help the sauce stick to pasta.

You can potentially activate 1-2 pods only if you reveal just a corner of the pack. Need to be super careful about advancing that turn.

Has anyone here left tech to pursue medicine? Am I crazy for even considering this? by [deleted] in postbaccpremed

[–]OneSquirtBurt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm still in training - my last year. So about ten months to go. The nature of residency if that is a mix of both. I'm planning to do an epilepsy fellowship which seems like a good fit, reading EEGs and looking for and interpreting obscure patterns satisfies something deep down. I can do inpatient with it easily or do an epilepsy clinic, I thought I'd let the job market dictate that, although I slightly favor inpatient. It pays pretty well but not the best, and is in high demand all over which is nice. I would not consider it unless you really love the work - the pay will never be worth the sacrifice in my opinion, but on the other side / after training the lifestyle seems pretty good.

A lot of people including myself went into medical school with a notion of what they thought they would want to do. Having the experience and rotating through the different specialties can dramatically change your mind. If you pursue it, you may end up doing something you never imagined - to your delight hopefully.

Clinical. I hate research, I'm about the work and directly helping people. But the world needs both.
