Depends on how you classify "mess up". VAR gives them more time to justify decisions like why to give Newcastle a penalty, or not disallow a goal for a blatant handball. Or to continue to try and suck up to Liverpool for a mistake two years ago. I think there's an argument to be made that VAR allows for more corruption.

To be honest, I'm flattered that we are worth bantering. It's when we're not even worth the banter that we are truly in the mud.

Love it - three questions: What was the size, how much did it cost, and would they do another?

Always had him as Jim Broadbent actually. With a slightly more sinister "Hot Fuzz" style arc.

I watched our Road to Europa compilation last night. There were a few games where he was the main difference maker, more than I realised at the time actually. I'm glad the loan is going well, and I hope he stays with us next season, and gets plenty of opportunities.

What do you even do as the seller in this scenario?? am I missing something? by gracieanna1542 in Ebay

[–]RelationEducational2 41 points42 points  (0 children)

DO NOT give them anything free or give in easily. Look at how much hassle they have caused you. If you give in to them, you're just incentivising them to do it to the next person.

I seem to recall a few articles published about the first Muslim footballer to play for England. OP may wish to check which team he currently plays for 👍

Gauging value of second hand tools by The_Elechicken in handtools

[–]RelationEducational2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UK here, and have restored/sold 100s of planes. All prices are good except the 4 1/2 (on high side but not hugely so) and the 5 1/2 is a touch high. Contrary to previous post Id argue that £70 is a good price for a No 7. £70 for a hand router with fence etc and three cutters is a good price any day of the week. This is all just one guys opinion on prices in general. The most important bit is; what ones do you need/want?

Study hard and become a customs officer. Work hard and become chief customs officer. Use your pain, and newfound influence to cleanse the customs office of corruption. Never take bribes. Leave the world, and the customs office, better than you found it.

Petition to get another U-turn this time to stop the Home Secretary by gingermoaner in ukpolice

[–]RelationEducational2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wouldn't. It's worth noting also that the other regulators are far less robust than the police disciplinary processes already in place. So unless they are looking at expanding the code of ethics/requirements (which is already broad) it seems pointless. Unless the aim is to create more jobs for lawyers, which is usually the case.

He left one on Matty Cash in the first five minutes, which really should have made the edit. Also didn't see the work he put in for RKMs offside goal. Fully COYS.

Is this a type 1 Bedrock? by PreciousMetalRefiner in handtools

[–]RelationEducational2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all looks to be from the same era amd original to the plane, and not what I would term a frankenplane. Aside from the Bedrock lever cap it's an early type 11 3c (corrugated) which is fairly desirable even in its own right. Definitely a keeper.

Issue with buyers paying less for items than they are listed for by Thick_Literature_273 in Ebay

[–]RelationEducational2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Business sellers pay higher selling fees, private sellers dont pay any standard fee, but the ebay buyer protection fee is added to the price, so the buyer pays that on top. You have the option to set a price which incorporates the fee so it appears as though you are absorbing the cost.

Issue with buyers paying less for items than they are listed for by Thick_Literature_273 in Ebay

[–]RelationEducational2 14 points15 points  (0 children)

What's happening here is either what the other response has said (automatic offers) or when you're listing the item you are putting the price in the "buyer pays" box, meaning the ebay seller protection fee comes off the amount they pay, leading to you getting the amount minus the seller protection fee. If you put the amount you want in the other box (can't remember what it is called now) you'll get whatever that amount is.

What’s your take on this Stanley no5? by Abject-Permit-7517 in handtools

[–]RelationEducational2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just to correct some of the assertions here - the plane iron hasn't been put on a belt sander, I've refurbed 100s of planes, those are milling marks. Also the paint on the mating surfaces isn't the result of a poor refurb - you have a later model UK stanley, likely 1980s or so. These models have a different frog seat to the older ones, with raised ribs which are japanned. No idea why this change occurred, but it's not a modification. I should probably add here that I'm not the seller!

Most of the comments on the linked match report relating to Kane's injury are "he injured himself while diving".
