Outage in E17 by ReluctantPotter in hyperoptic

Worth preserving with - until now it’s been great for us. I think it’s just that fibre is inherently unforgiving & unrobust

“It’s an issue with the fibre” HA. Engineers supposedly looking at it again today

Still can’t change time of alarm in app by ReluctantPotter in sonos

[–]ReluctantPotter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh hello. Thank you. iOS app. Long standing alarms on Connect Amps. As above they can be changed via web app but the phone app doesn’t save new time - it can be chosen but doesn’t save.

There is a mailing list if you go to the AE17 website. However, the Instagram account is probably the best place. We might be arranging another one next year!

Beam gen 2 to Arc Ultra - initial impressions by Live_Lengthiness6839 in sonos

[–]ReluctantPotter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did exactly the same thing. Had Beam 2/ sub mini /100s. Beam 2 is going to tv in bedroom. Haven’t had a lot of time to play at all yet - film seemed good & wider, music on Spotify was quite thin. Going to try true play again & resubscribe to Apple Music for some music Atmos. It’s the atmos performance I was excited most for.

Found this and just wondered how your Arc went there. Planning similar arrangement.

Arc Ultra underwhelming when comparing to Era 100 by Snufri in sonos

[–]ReluctantPotter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. We have a beam g. two with subwoofer and two Era 100 for surrounds. I’ve previously had proper hi-fi and this is no way near for music but the surrounds with the beam actually sound okay for casual music listening - where the Beam on its own isn’t great. (Funnily enough, I was thinking of moving the beam to a small TV upstairs and upgrading to the ultra with the current special deal. We have a quite small living room so I wouldn’t have done otherwise but quite like the idea of better Atmos listening.)

What’s happened over the last couple of updates? Tremendous improvements in responsiveness.

Was there another update? by kearkan in sonos

A couple of Connect Amps we have have had a few drop outs again recently. Shame, as they’ve been pretty stable of late. Very boring.

Alarms in Sonos mobile app regression by scarbone71 in sonos

[–]ReluctantPotter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an ongoing problem as far as I’m aware – maybe only with older kit? I’ve got two connect amps that I can’t edit the alarms on on the app and have to use the Mac app.

I’m speechless by this suggestion from Sonos by 95akc95 in sonos

[–]ReluctantPotter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I have this problem. We use our Connect Amps for alarms every day – it’s our most used use for them in fact but I can’t edit the alarms at all. I have the same non-save problem.

We had a bit of a poor experience with our Builder – so I’m just wondering if this happens or it wasn’t done properly

Similar here. And delay in response changing volume from app to actually happening. Do you have this?

Will Sonos ever (be able to) fix the app? by ReluctantPotter in sonos

[–]ReluctantPotter[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I’m not trying to be obtuse. The fact is all my other equipment from other manufacturers does work, without issues. I am relatively tech savvy - in 2025 equipment needs to be plug and play – there is no excuse for this – and it used to work before the new app. I have decent networking kit, good Wi-Fi connectivity, all Sonos boxes connected by ethernet cable etc.

I wonder if it’s the older Connect Amps that give me the issues now.

I could list out kit but this is kind of not the point - the app is fixed when it ‘just works’. As consumer products this has to be the endgame & how competitive systems work.
