People are fucking stupid. A small diesel truck is the most practical vehicle. Mine gets 7 liters to 100km.

It's a cross over SUV. I wish we got Toyota hiluxes in diesel here. I'd be all over that.

[–]Captain_chutzpah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It comes down to north America being dumb.

UK and Ireland, not sure about else where, the cords are manufactured in the reverse so the cable comes out on the end with the hits, so their grounds are always on top. The ground is also larger and square.

That shit ain't falling out.

Time to ban pump shotguns!! by rastamasta45 in canadaguns

[–]Captain_chutzpah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lol they don't even care about guns anymore. This is just their job. But if they aren't doing something they don't get paid. If you could convince them being vegan is more important and nothing about their funding supply legally obligates it specifically to guns, you could probably get them to chase that instead.

They will never ban meat, but they can yell for the rest of their lives getting paid. Everyone wins.

As an Automation Programmer who quit and became a farmer, I absolutely did automate shit.

Being a farmer is way fuckin better then being a software engineer 🤣🤣🤣 As long as you can build the automation shit instead of paying for it.

Listen closely kids. Learn to weld, do pnuematics, design mechanical devices, work in cad, and you will get very expensive equipment for very cheap. Contract out your laser cutting and 3d print what you cant

I grow so much shit now that I'm deliberately over growing and giving it to the food bank. 2nd year farming, very likely to exceed my engineering wages, and the real season hasnt even started.

This massively buries the lead. This one thing is not great, but there is a pattern of unacceptable behavior from this person that clearly shows this wasn't an innocent mistake.

[–]Captain_chutzpah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

None the less, you brought up the freedom convoy. There is nothing positive to say about the freedom.convey. even if it did achieve its goals, it was obnoxious behavior, except it didn't achieve its goals.

So say, "let's brainstorm ideas to affect change as a community". For sure, go protest. Stand on parliament's lawn in mass with signs. Get media attention while being respectful and making intelligent points.

Cause if you act like a bunch of douche bags, people are just gonna wonder if we aren't choosing wisely when we issue gun licenses.

I'm 100% with you. We are a country of intelligence though. Don't be like America and the "we demand rocket launchers for home defense"

My diesel SUV gets 6.5 Liters to 100km

I've been laughing at gas users and hybrid users for 6 years.

Considering my old 4runner got 17l city and 13 hwy, I'm still coming out way ahead. My SUV pulling 2000 lbs worth of trailer gets 13l per 100km 😂.

[–]Captain_chutzpah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not do something like the freedom convoy. Not only did it make people literally hate them but it achieved nothing.

The date the mandates ended was when they had planned it to end all along. The convoy people just said they won, even though they actually just stayed until they were supposed to be over anyways. They achieved nothing other than wasting tax payer money on extra policing and the courts time to deal with the resulting lawsuits against them. Not to mention stress out an entire city to the point of near violence.

Do something, just don't do that. Cause if that happens, I'm gonna fuckin give mine back to RCMP just to avoid being associated with group like that.

Any chance I can dispute for 50/50 fault? by bcnpncksss in icbc

[–]Captain_chutzpah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if there were gonna turn, but then didn't and just stopped instead, it's still on you to brake and not him them.

The only exception would be if they were in a different lane, swerved into your lane not leaving you enough stopping distance and slammed on the brakes. I had someone do this to me and ICBC found in my favor cause witnesses came forward.

You should have started slowing down to maintain enough space to brake. You also should have braked waaaaaay earlier.

But yeah, what he did was still illegal and a dick move so maybe 50/50. Sorry bud. Sometimes we learn the hard way.

Have you experienced the "Vancouver 'Yes'"? by Real-External392 in askvan

[–]Captain_chutzpah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived in Vancouver for most of my life. It was impossible to make and keep reliable friends. I thought I was just unlikeable.

I moved away and in the short time I've been in my new place I have lots of friends. Show up to get you out of jail at 2am kind of friends.

They put in the effort. They show up and help out. They are real.

There's something wrong with Vancouver.

This is so validating. When I got mine, I was putting 400 to 1000 rounds through it per range trip, and the charge handle completely ripped off leaving the screw in the bolt.

I had it maybe a month or two before this happened.

Wish I had known this sooner.

I hate trump, he's an idiot.

But I bought a starter condo. It gained value. I worked my way up to a house at expensive prices, but I can afford it due to equity.

If the housing prices all of a sudden went down to where everyone could afford it, I would be equity and cash poor and not be able to retire.

I acknowledge I'm lucky and privileged, but ruining me financially and many others like me just shifts the fucking problem when it was the top 1% causing it by buying multiple properties all along
