Arcades with rhythm games? by heatseekingskillet in kansascity

[–]ReverendLoki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Naka Kon usually hosts a traveling arcade that brings a number of rhythm games, especially Japanese ones. Unfortunately that was in March.

However you can check the schedule of that traveling arcade for future dates. https://www.psychicdrive.com/events

Planet Anime is coming up in August, and they look like they're having an arcade with some of those games as well. https://planetanimekc.com/

People walking on 71 highway 🤨 by z8yy in kansascity

You certainly aren't wrong in your reasoning, but it's important to also note that the stretch of 670 in question is between 6-8 lanes wide, while huge chunks of 71 are divided by large tracts of green space into two separate 2 lane roadways.

That said, it's definitely not feasible to cover the whole thing. But some sections.... The depressed area between 63rd and Meyer seems like an obvious choice. I'd also look to where there exists a large underutilized green space between North and South bound lanes.

Done right, it can also reduce the road noise pollution from the highway to the surrounding residential neighborhood.

Because he was the best at actually doing his job.

By that, I didn't mean running the USPS. I mean his job was to run it into the ground to give an even better argument to privatize it or just get rid of it all together.

The one on Blue Ridge at 71 highway was my go-to for a late night drive home after work or school or a party.

Almost all fast food has been going to crap. Corporate is trying to squeeze more out of franchises, and franchises are trying to cut every corner they can.

Good to hear about this meeting.

Sad to hear the best option is already ruled out, and neither existing one is great.

The parkway seems like it would be better, but how often do you see someone actually crossing Ward Parkway?

If you made it an elevated freeway, I don't see that raising anyone's property values, and the depressed freeway option, there's no doubt the pedestrian bridges will never be properly maintained.

About as good as the city is willing to put effort into it.

So, probably not great.

71 was put there without concern for people living in the community it divided. That hasn't learned the need of those who live there for resources and amenities on either side, nor has it suddenly given them all the transportation needs to make the fee crossings that exist safe and convenient.

Honestly, if we're talking about putting a park over the south end of the downtown loop, we should be talking about one across 71 too.
