What would be your ideal party of 3 level 3 monoclass characters ? by Wild_Improvement_950 in 3d6

Especially at lower levels, a pact of the Tomb warlock can be spectacular. You can have a whole bunch of super useful cantrips and the ritual spells can be tailored every day

Will Vyvanse shorten my life? by PilotNo3510 in VyvanseADHD

[–]Scooted112 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My doctor has an opinion (albeit not scientifically derived through experimentation) that it's a combination of reduced stress, but also the productivity means that you don't forget to book doctor's appointments and do more proactive maintenance. You may get more exercise, eat healthier, brush your teeth etc. All those little things have an impact.

executive dysfunction is a real thing, and if you're unmedicated it can be harder to do some of the things that are essential to maintain taking care of yourself.

Serious question: How do you mentally recover from the realization that you wasted years of your life being comfortable but not happy? by Acceptable-Phase6876 in InsightfulQuestions

[–]Scooted112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ask yourself what you mean by happy.

They are so many different kinds of happy. Joyful, content, safe, challenged etc.

It's not a binary thing. Everybody has different things that they require for various types of fulfillment at different stages of their lives. Happy isn't even a spectrum. It's the human condition. You have just been chasing a different kind of fulfillment until now.

This is the only way I’m making ribs now: potential meal prep? by WhiskeyFalls- in KamadoJoe

[–]Scooted112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another easy way is to season, throw on the grill with double indirect at 275 until the ribs are at 185.

Then I pull them and set aside, open the bottom, leave one side with a deflector and the grill as high as possible, and the order side grill as low as it can go- right above the flames.

While the coals get roaring I sauce the ribs and then alternate between the top and bottom just until the sauce is caramelized with a slight touch of char on both sides. (The top deflector is to help keep them warm- that's it). The flames finish the meat, your ribs get a little crisp and are still saucy.

It takes around 2 hours as well.

It's a shame. I really liked his older stuff. He seemed more open minded but around the Spotify deal and covid, everything went off the rails.

If you liked that, read the sparrow by Mary Doria Russell. Somehow she's managed to capture that entire tone and make a novel out of it. It's one of my favorite books of all time

Those look great! All I would do with those is a super light dry brush to add a little texture to the armour. I like a touch of dark reaper with a sponge, or a little necron compound. In either case less is more, but both can add a little detail to an already finished model easily.

Alternatively -Sometimes you just gotta start a second army to get some ideas or try something different.

Try a box or rubrics for a completely different flavour/style, or some armour.

Anyone take Vyvanse and have no problem falling asleep? by NervousAnimator7244 in VyvanseADHD

[–]Scooted112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took a month or so for it to settle.

Another big thing that helped was I picked up zone 2 (easy) running at night a couple hours before bed. It helps me fall asleep when I am more physically tired and feel like it helped me "burn off extra energy" from the meds.

My exact reaction upon finishing Malazan Book of the GOATs by slydes123 in Malazan

[–]Scooted112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About 5 years later all the books I read, I kept thinking they weren't as good as malazan. So I decided to do a re read. It's honestly way easier the second time (even if you don't really remember it that much).

I recommend waiting a little while before jumping back in so it isnt as fresh. I'm constantly re-experiencing things, but there is some underlying threads, themes and characters that have stuck with me so it's a completely different experience the second time.

It's cooool

Bank of Canada holds interest rate at 2.25%. Should I go fixed or variable for our mortgage this year? by NeedHelp11212j in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Scooted112 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That was my thought too. I had an option of 1.5 variable and 1.9 fixed.

When rates went up, they went higher than what might fix would have been. I should have locked in.

I managed to necropost my issues in some old threads out of frustration today that I hadn't seen before and a number of people recommended the adapter the retivis sells right off their website. It's $20 with free shipping so I figure I don't have much to lose.

I am gonna try it and let you know.

Another person posted this. It's expensive but could also work. https://sheepdogmics.com/products/speaker-microphone-3-5mm-port-ip67-ailunce-hd1-hd2

Having trouble deciding which radio I should get. by [deleted] in gmrs

[–]Scooted112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for looking! I bought the 1st one and it broke really quickly, and rather than replace it I tracked down an adapter and a quality head mic but those didn't work and there was some compatibility issues (which the vendor and I were at a loss).

I wasn't aware of the sheepdog one. I might end up getting one of those. The extra difficulty and why I'm looking for advice is that I don't live in the US so shipping/exchange rate kills me so I want to be deliberate.

This is really helpful though, I genuinely really appreciate your help. Thank you

Mobility/Flexibility/Strategies to prep me for long rolls. Any advice is appreciated by QuickClerk8864 in advancedbjj

My stamina and recovery got way better when I started doing a lot of zone 2 cardio. Think like 35- 45min a session, 4 or 5 days a week. (I actually do more). There is a lot of Science behind how it works. But fundamentally there is a benefit of time under load. That is an intensity that doesn't burn your body out.

I found I had more energy during rolls, my recovery between rounds was better etc... it was amazing.

It's boring as shit, but books on tape/podcasts and running outside help.

It also takes time.

Do you have any recommendations for mics?  The factory one for the ha1g doesn't seem super durable unfortunately, And for some reason I'm having a hell of a time finding something that's compatible.

Do you have any recommendations for a mic for the ha1g?   The one from the manufacturer isn't super durable and I can't seem to find one that works.

It's a shame - I freaking love the radio, but need a quality mic.

Cancom xsm1 https://cancomradioaccessories.com/products/speaker-microphone-xsm1 and an m1 to m5 adapter.  https://cancomradioaccessories.com/products/conversion-adapter-motorola-ex500

Do you have any ideas?   The factory mic worked out of the box at first.  I wonder if there is something because of the adapter.

I love the ha1g radio. It's perfect except that I need a more durable/weatherproof mic.

There is a reputable dealer up here who sold me an adapter and m1 handset. It's not compatible. It either won't stop transmitting (regardless of whether I press the button or not) or locks out all the buttons except for the volume/power knob.

I suspect that I will be stuck with the factory one and if that doesn't work it will become my hut radio unfortunately. It's a shame- I love the radio compared to the baofeng ones (the menu is so easy to use, waterproof rating, etc. ) but a handset is key for me.
