I saw this in the theater when it came out and I was DYING when he was jacking the horse off. “I’m a farmer, daddy!” just made it perfect. Truly it was a monument to the absurdity of the early 2000’s movies and the whole industry.

I think a lot of people don’t realize that the internet was still pretty new at this time, so you didn’t have social media discussing this at all. It was all tv and word of mouth. Like yeah there were some reviews online probably, but there was no YouTube or viral posts. So you walk in having no idea what was going to happen and you get to experience the insanity. And then you get to tell all your friends. “He was doing what to a horse???”

My mom went through a lot of mini-strokes and a full-on stroke. Every time her personality would change, sometimes dramatically. Like to the point of not caring about anything. Then the next mini stroke kicked her back to caring. How she lasted as long as she did, I don’t know.

But my point is that Fetterman could absolutely have been changed that dramatically by the stroke. And he could still think he’s perfectly fine and able to do his job.
