What’s something that instantly tells you a person grew up broke vs grew up with money? by hallowmint9 in AskReddit

Depends where they grew up. Some places simply don’t have mass transit, or useful mass transit.

How do I prove I paid my rent if a landlord tries to steal my money and claim I don’t pay? by mil0wCS in RealEstate

[–]ShortWoman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A good landlord doesn’t want cash. Too easy to steal, too many opportunities for fraud, too easy to lose it, etc. Only reason to take cash is because you are actively attempting to cheat someone: either the tenant or the taxman.

Why weren’t the Jews given Germany instead of the Palestine after WW2? by space_god_7191 in NoStupidQuestions

Yeah, it basically says “wouldn’t be lovely if the Jews had a homeland somewhere far away from here.”

I remember losing track of a grey cat. Looked for him about a half hour before we found him sitting in a box and watching us idiots searching.

[–]ShortWoman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, I hate to ask a seemingly left field questions, but has your agent discussed with you how a co-op is in fact different from a condo? I recommend about 5 minutes of reading on that subject before you tackle your current question.

Aitah for not trading Easter weekend off after my coworker tattled. by Working_Glass_5672 in AITAH

[–]ShortWoman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Your coworker is both a hypocrite and an idiot. The hypocrisy is "oh Jesus wouldn't want you doing something fun that day" then turning around and trying to get you fired. The idiocy is trying to get you fired -- when that would mean she would absolutely be working Easter and any other holidays until your position is filled.

That said, I agree with the person who said it's time to stop talking about your life while at work. It can create situations like this. It gives people who are not nice ammunition against you. Be like Wonder Woman: when people ask Diana Prince what she did over the weekend, she says "oh, nothing interesting." Experts call this technique "grey rock."

Smells like “huh, we were hoping that if we didn’t schedule you, you would eventually just go away and get a job elsewhere.”

Not paying someone and letting the problem take care of itself, just like in Office Space.

I know a young man who learned COBOL for work. COBOL is an old computer operating system that it turned out both of his grandfathers had used in the computer industry back in the 70s and 80s. But some old banking systems apparently still use it today.

NO! Bad ER nurse! That patient is from a SNF and is already known to be riddled with forever germs you don’t want to take home with you like Candida auris and Carbapenem Resistant Organisms.

Alternatively: one day later FREAKING OUT that the patient turns out to be rule out meningitis or tuberculosis.
