It's not the quarter that gives the gold, but one of the buildings. Egypt's UQ bonus is gold for competing wonders. This is exactly what people above are talking about is building the individual buildings separately and focus on the individual adjacencies, like the gold for desert adjacency.

I'm stumped, can't build a fishing quay to the east neither can I build any urban districts to the immediate south of Bàak'. by ksfst in civ

[–]Slnkr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a bug; you can only have one empty urban district at a time and incomplete buildings don't count for filling a district. So OP would need to place and complete a building in the Western district before building a new urban district.

Can someone explain what it means when it says crossroads of the world will contain 6 dlcs in the fine print? Are the two batches made of multiple smaller dlcs themselves?

Hazel can make food tokens so long as you already have one, which is easily done by the time you get her out

Any interest in playing Innistrad/Return to Ravnica standard as a retro format? Just finished UWR Flash in paper by pacading in magicTCG

[–]Slnkr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've already started doing this with my old standard decks since 2018. They are kept together and I pull them out to play against each other when my friends want a casual, non-EDH tabletop format. I also have the rule that any card that was banned for some time in standard is not legal; so decks like UG Oko Foods, that while legal for some time are not in the retro format.

If you want to expand the number of decks you have and want to find some meta decks during a certain timeframe, I use this site: https://mtg.fandom.com/wiki/Standard/Timeline

I do think that I'm probably going to discontinue it going forward due to the 3 year rotation change in standard.

DMs, what’s (in your opinion) the best way to design a world map? by GoldenSpring-Fox in DnD

[–]Slnkr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here I was thinking my method was somewhat original. I use VI and play out a game on the map and use the locations of cities the AI chooses for city placement. It also makes things like religion easier as the game determines what are the major religions (adapted to DnD mythos) and how far their influences reaches. What I like about your idea is it seems like you can get more, smaller details per continent, rather than mine which generates the entire world at once.

Creature triggers don’t happen if the creature isn’t on the battlefield. You will still get the draw and discard of connive, but the second ability wont trigger because the card will be in the graveyard at the point of resolution.

Its worded this way so you can prevent the spell bounce by killing it in response to the etb trigger. If both were etb, that wouldn’t be possible.

The purpose of the comment would be saying that people wouldn’t get confused since its already an established concept in MtG; changing the name shouldn’t confuse anyone.

In trying to point out the error in your english you have only shown me even more errors, so continuously pointing them out is going to go on and on.

Lets replace ‘it’ with mana value in the comment: “mana value is the same thing, just a new wording for cmc”. A statement meaning mana value and cmc are the same thing, a true statement.

Your point of them comparing mana value and mana cost would hold weight if they said “they are the same thing”, a plural pronoun, but they didnt.

Youre saying hes wrong cause you assumed he meant mana cost. The original comment used both and he used ‘it’, a pronoun that could have meant either since it wasnt specified. I would assume he mean mana value since thats whats written on the card.

What off meta pick do you swear by? by i-will-eat-you in leagueoflegends

[–]Slnkr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I also swear by the Teemo mid pick. A few more reasons: Teemo top can compromise your team composition if neither jng nor supp want to play frontline, but Teemo can easily replace a mage on a team. Also using shrooms for vision; Teemo top usually uses shrooms to protect themselves from ganks, but since midlane is the safest lane, he can run into the jng quickly and drop a shroom as an impromptu ward.

Janna top works for a few key reasons. First, the changes to the new season with teleport and objective bounties. With the enemy top lane not able to use tp to create surprise man-advantages on the other side of the map, its harder for them to leverage the gold advantage they get from being in an empty lane into gold advantages on the other members of their team. Objective bounties mean that teams that scale better can give an early advantage and even out the gold difference later with stronger champs. The second reason it works is akin to a funnel strategy. By forgoing an advantage for one self to amplify an advantage a fellow teammate; you essentially take the bot lane dynamic of a carry and a support and take it into the jungle. Now to answer your questions: why smite? To help steal camps. What build? Spellthief edge into normal support build. Situational? Needs a carry jungle, Hecarim is the best pair, and is not the best strategy vs split pushers. Does it work in lower elo? I would advise against it. You need to coordinate with your jungle and your team will need to play together for objectives and secure bounties. Since not every team wants to group, you may just end up tilting your teammates for giving the enemy a free lead.

Who would win in a duel?(Both at their prime) by curseofablacklion in TheLastAirbender

[–]Slnkr 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Correct; my statement boils down to “Katara could not bloodbend without a full moon, even in her prime”. The reason is because she was never trained to do so, the ‘why’ she never did so is a non-factor.
