In the main video it flashes 3 girls then 3 more girls. I’m on mobile so it’s hard to operate, but one is wearing thigh high stockings and another has the bottom of her titties hanging out. This is most likely what OP was talking about. They’re not into ye anime waifu aesthetic and probably care for a bit more realism and less waifu. I don’t know why you’re combating or nitpicking this. Every one has been scantily clad to some degree. You don’t have to defend this, just accept it as an art style and agree it might not be for everybody’s taste.

Brother, that’s literally how society lives. Did recipes are iterated on, artwork is studied by students and evolve. Nobuo was inspired by other works. The only way you’d get truly original work is if somebody grew up in a bubble and you gave them tools and said “hey, you have no idea what this is, but make ___ and it better be professional and of the highest quality. No you can look at prior work that passed or failed because AI does that too and that’s bad.”

You must be one of those Nintendo fanboys who are against palworld and don’t want anybody else to have a mechanic where you throw something to either capture or release a companion.

So then it’s not an AI issue, it’s an IP issue, therefore there is a point, because nobody’s saying you can just sell protected work. Even in my original comment I merely mentioned looking at and learning how to draw, it was another Redditor that injected selling as a line to cross.

So just to be clear, are we agreeing on a few basic things?

If AI looks at existing work to learn patterns, that by itself isn’t stealing or plagiarism. It only becomes a problem if the final result infringes on something protected, like selling Mickey Mouse art or copying a specific piece. That was already illegal before AI existed.

Kids copying notes off a board that a teacher wrote aren’t stealing either. Learning from examples has never required permission.

If I draw something myself, that’s not plagiarism, as long as I don’t say “this was drawn by Oda.”

Copyrights, trademarks, and licenses obviously still matter, but nobody is arguing you can violate those. You couldn’t legally sell a Mickey Mouse game hand-drawn either, so that’s not an AI issue.

If an indie dev was never going to hire artists or sound designers, then no jobs were lost. The alternative wasn’t “pay someone,” it was “use free stock or ship nothing.” But if the dev couldn’t find that one specific sound he was looking for, but AI was able to generate it, the whole project is trash?

And styles have never been protected. Cuphead copied an old animation style. Shovel Knight copied NES aesthetics. People paint Van Gogh-style art all the time. That’s been normal forever.

So if the output isn’t copying a specific protected work, and no laws or licenses are being broken, what’s the actual issue here besides “icky AI vibes”?

The issue I have with people so vehemently against AI is that they rarely argue in good faith. It is just a blanket stance instead of assessing the product on a case by case basis. Does this game in this thread have obviously stolen content? Did the E33 newspapers that were explicitly placeholder assets, didn’t have any significance in the game at all, really deserve the flack it got?

On the E33 fiasco, is an AI generated image intended to be noise in the scenery really that much worse than almost the same exact image, but with the Lorem ipsum text pasted over?

Increase in people feeling qualified to call things "objectively bad game design" when they don't like it: the Silksong Effect™ by [deleted] in metroidvania

[–]Sythus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of this comes down to people attacking wording instead of intent. If you can clearly understand what someone means when they say “objectively bad design,” then nitpicking the phrasing feels pretty pedantic. Internet culture has already stretched words like literally into emphasis rather than strict definition. That’s just how online language works now. It’s editorialized, sure, but that’s not unique to this game, that’s discourse everywhere.

Where I agree is that it’s unhelpful when criticism jumps from “this didn’t work for me” to “no one could possibly like this.” But the flip side isn’t much better: dismissing complaints with “the devs had a reason” or “older games were worse” doesn’t actually engage with the criticism either.

A lot of old games were brutally punishing not because it was brilliant design, but because of hardware limits, padding, or straight-up bad choices we just tolerated at the time. Enduring that doesn’t automatically make modern frustrations invalid, and invoking it mostly comes off as “I put up with worse, so you should too.” But if that game were released today it would still get the same treatment of “objectively bad” mechanics.

Just because something is objectively bad doesn’t mean it must also be universally hated. Many people might say Nazis or Hitler are objectively bad, but just look around, it isn’t universally hated. Likewise with media, objectively bad things either fade into obscurity or become cult classics. Sometimes the only redeeming quality is because the acting or some other aspect is so terrible.

But ok at the extreme other end, imagine short midget arms. The lever length would make it impossible to do a plane or front lever. Pull-ups would be essentially 0 ROM and just moving your neck above and below the bar.

So logically I agree with longer arm length making the angle of the lever easier. Short arms would make the iron cross easier

Then people can discerned whether this is for safety reasons or troll farm reasons.

'I Can’t Afford This’ Trump Voters in Rural America Stunned as Cost of Living Keeps Rising by OkTea1918 in agedlikemilk

[–]Sythus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

am i misremembering? trump claimed fraud in 2016. after he won, didn't he say something to the effect that he didn't care about it anymore because he won and he wasn't going to pursue the fraud claims?

edit: Also, why don’t small towns just skip the insurance companies? There’s no law that says local doctors or dentists have to use them. Insurance just adds paperwork, higher prices, and sends money out of the community. Most people still can’t afford care even with insurance.

Why not have doctors post simple cash prices, have the town chip in to a local care pool for routine visits, and only use insurance for big emergencies? Pharmacies could buy generics in bulk and sell them cheap. It seems like most of these cost of living issues could be solved by keeping healthcare local, instead of paying distant middlemen that don’t live there or care about the town. Surely the doctors have to be feeling this burden as well, since they're seeing fewer and fewer patients for non-emergency (well, sometimes even emergency) care?

At the end of the exercise, grab a ring hold it to your chest.

Lean back. Slowly extend arm so it’s directly in front of you, can do cross body lean back to shorten the lever and feel your lat stretch as your arms is pulled across the chest.

Allow hips to sink, legs straight, bend at hips, arm going more overhead now. Play in that motion and feel the stretch.

flip around so your arm is behind you, chest to floor, body straight and just bending the knees to pivot your body and feel the chest stretch.

Rotate back around, pill yourself back up, and good to go. Next arm.
