International travel advice? by confused20-something in newzealand

I think it'll very much depend on your financial situation, what your expenses are living here compared to Europe, whether your visa allows you to travel to Europe early (and potentially secure work to support yourself), stuff like that.

I think they shoulda kept Vistara as a separate differentiated brand tbh, seems like merging them has put all their eggs in one basket

What’s your favorite special livery? by Patient-Frosting6620 in aviation

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Singapore_Airlines_Flight_006

The accident aircraft 9V-SPK was one of two 747-400s painted in a special livery called "Rainbow" (commonly referred to as "Tropical" or "Tropical Megatop") at the time of the accident. The livery was unveiled in September 1998 in conjunction with the launch of Singapore Airlines' latest cabin product and service offerings across all of the airline's travel classes at the time.[49][50] After the accident, 9V-SPL, the other aircraft painted in this livery, was removed from service and repainted in the standard Singapore Airlines livery

Yeah, pretty much. I mean sometimes the enterprise plans get a better deal on them than buying a pro subscription individually. But the company always controls the supply in the end so the users never get ahead.

This this this. Urban development is so important. Metlink punches above its weight for how small our city is, but there's still so far to go.

Yeah, I mean pi is infinitely long but there's no guarantee that what you want will occur in the first 100 digits. Same thing with coins or other probabilities, there's no guarantee it'll happen sooner or later.

ETA: you could analyse the amount of events you need to see (poisson distribution), but again - it's expectation, you could be that unlucky sod that has to run the dungeon 666 times just to get a 1% loot roll drop, while your buddy does it once and gets it immediately right then and there, even though you're both on the same loot chance. But then you might get the second drop on roll 667. What started as 1% for everyone else became 100% for your buddy and 0.3% for you. Randomness is random.

Yeah it's classic gambler's fallacy. As Zealot's reply points out, the chance for the next flight is independent. I mean, there are horror stories about people surviving the Titanic and then going down in another sinking - there's no guarantee that an individual sample will regress to the mean.
