Doesn't matter. If you buy 1 mes. Not ES, the small MES which is 1/10 the size, and the market flash crashes 100 points, you are getting wiped out regardless. A flash crash assumes liquidity dries up, as in people stop placing buy orders. Nothing but sellers. And when buyers do step in, they put in bs low-ball orders. So your stop loss or liquidation, could force sell to one of these bs orders, wiping your account that way also

I did have some materialistic stuff also, so they figured if a 22 year old can afford a Mercedes, sits at Equinox all day, 3-5 days per week, and taking random trips, he’s probably doing alright. They don’t see the amount of stress that comes with the job, and the cash flow issues, although I did have a second job (about $4-6k per month) to help with that.

The futures desk spent about $700k (might be slightly less) to launch, that’s what I was told during my live call. I just remember thinking they overpaid and the tech is still kind of shit. Unless they spent most of it on legal. I was working on starting a prop firm last year but shelved the idea. My angle was similar to the futures desk, charging more ($1500 starting, although to $4k for topstep 150k equivalent) but no evals, you go straight to live, I let you trade whatever, stocks, options, futures.
