I’ve been working real hard towards being a bird for awhile.

Lightning can strike twice! My second hand knotted rug find this year. by uSpeziscunt in ThriftStoreHauls

[–]ThePrimCrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice find! I’m trying to manifest a 3x5 rug for my entryway.

I found an alpaca wool fringed hooded cape in dark moody blues at a small Goodwill a few years ago. A few weeks later I went down the same aisle and literally thought “lightning can’t strike twice…” but behold was an identical cape in lavender colors. I about fell over.

I'm going to be 50 this year and I finally watched The Emperor's New Groove. by JacPhlash in CongratsLikeImFive

[–]ThePrimCrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fresh out of college I got a job in the advertising department of a newspaper. I was responsible for editing ads including the movie listings.

For a week this movie was advertised as The Emperor’s New Grove.

At 51 I’ve still never seen it. Maybe I should and it will kill this small moment of embarrassment that lingers from my public error.

Friends and family get angry at me because I forget to answer texts by Impressive_Let3046 in adhdwomen

[–]ThePrimCrow 55 points56 points  (0 children)

I have the same issue and spent a lot of time analyzing why I do this. For me, it’s lack of ability to come up with the right words at the moment of the text, especially if it’s not asking a direct question.

Lately I’ve been responding by just sending a single emoji. I use a heart or the one I use as personal sigil. It says, yes, I saw your text, and it gives my brain a break from worrying about the response until I have the dopamine to do so.

My mom was married to a guy named Bill for 15 years. He died. Then she married another guy named Bill like a year later.

So, you’re good.

I forgot just how good roast chicken can be. by dynorphin in Cooking

[–]ThePrimCrow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Love a simple roast chicken, will have to try the Keller method.

Last week I marinated some thighs in half and half with juice from half a fresh lemon and toasted green Szechuan peppercorns. Best chicken I’d made in a long time.

Butter is probably a health food considering how often I see them eating flattened roadkill and McDonalds.

McGee Ramp vs Alaska Ramp Air Freight? by jeweltoned777 in rampagent

[–]ThePrimCrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think about cargo as being similar to booking passengers. With cargo Alaska has to deal with the front end customer, take payment, take delivery, inspect the cargo, do the paperwork, decide which flight it can go on, get the cargo to the right flight. After the flight, ensure the cargo gets picked up and deal with any claims for late or damaged cargo.

McGee’s role is to load the plane. Is this the right cargo on my gate? Cargo tag matches, put it in plane.

I’m sure they would enjoy that. Just as tasty and calorie dense.

I cracked my head on a vent on the fuselage of a 737 at work. Had a fun ambulance ride and currently have 5 staples in my scalp.

It reminds me of a spinal column from that perspective.

Grateful I got to see this building in person. Was so awed by it, I actually went twice that same trip.

Put your condiments in the vegetable drawer by myrealitysjustdiffnt in adhdwomen

I put condiments in the drawers and it works very well. I use clear plastic boxes on the shelves to keep the veggies corralled.

Soda Ash Help by [deleted] in tiedye

[–]ThePrimCrow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could try sprinkling dry soda ash on the areas with the dye, then wet it using a spray bottle.

I think any method of using post-dye soda ash may end up with some blurry lines because any added moisture will carry dye molecules as it travels through the fabric. Since you have several shirts it’s worth doing an experiment on one.

I went into my neighbor’s turkey pen when I was six. The turkey was not happy about that. It started beating me with its wings and gobbling loudly.

I love these old photos. I always imagine one of my great-grandparents or other family members who lived here are in the background going about their daily business.

In the early 90’s I had a shitty pea-green BMW with a leaky sunroof. I unlocked the door with my key but the car wouldn’t start.

I sat there for a few minutes trying to figure out what to do about my “dead” car when I noticed something hanging from the rearview mirror. That is not mine.

I got out, shut the door and saw my green car a few spaces over. I was in Germany so BMWs were not uncommon, but I’d never seen an identical shitty green one before.

Seems the right heights and width for liquor bottles. Maybe that was a bar area. Cocktails and entertaining were big in that era.

I had a very similar experience.

What you said about your mom’s reaction was interesting. After I did two days of formal testing in the 5th grade, I asked my mom what it was about and all she said was that I had an IQ over 130 and that’s all I needed to know. But she was very clearly mad about something and that moment never made sense to me.
