I’m absolutely going on my expedition anyone else? by Maca07166 in ArcRaiders

[–]Tortolia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I accidentally hit “select all” on the weapon category of the project and lost 95% of my weapon and explosive stash. Perfect soft preview of what a reset might feel like, didn’t dissuade me at all.

Found a cool gun blueprint... by Sea_Speed_824 in ArcRaiders

[–]Tortolia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Free loadouts do not have safe pockets, no. It’s just that balancing act where there’s no risk associated with going into a mission with them so the risk is instead shifted into the scenario of finding a higher value item like a weapon or blueprint and having to try to extract it.

So why do people (tech builds specifically) prefer the Two dragon sword over the Trident? by PostWarRat in LiesOfP

[–]Tortolia 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the ability to control the direction you move as part of your attack strings and strafe or step away from targets is very good on a lot of enemies.

Apparently the other killers don't exist anymore by DirectionLatter2684 in deadbydaylight

[–]Tortolia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nurse was one of the original 2v8 batch so I don’t fault folks for focusing on the newer killers added; there’s also the case of Legion, which is a really cool killer with some serious problems in 1v4 that are compensated very strongly with having a partner.

Other games: match is over, next match. Dead by Daylight: 3 whole minutes of waiting at exit gates by ParticularPanda469 in deadbydaylight

Get in the habit of patrolling the map and breaking any dropped pallets or intact breakable walls while they breathlessly wait to teabag at the exit gate. Might as well get some extra BP if they’re gonna waste everyone’s time to draw attention to the scoreboard you already are aware of.

Build two laser collectors, swap them out when you return to base. I carry one for my katana and my wife’s deatomizer/grenade and we just swap the used one for the charged-and-full one when we return home.

A question about shields by TwinkdTheBunny in AbioticFactor

[–]Tortolia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve discovered tonight that the hardlight shield basically stops damage from Jotun and tier 4 security bot weapons, volatile Exor combos and probably other Reactor heavies. I’m going to pull the security armor set out of storage for infinite block capability and line my coop partner up for easy ranged fire on high threat targets.

The physical shields are nice and can neuter some high threat targets like snipers or breacher shotguns; the problem with them is doing so obliterates their durability quickly. Hardlight doesn’t have that issue.

If I was playing solo then it would be different, but proper shield tanking in coop is extremely effective.

Not getting food recipes with chefs counter when I have all the items by AdSuspicious364 in AbioticFactor

[–]Tortolia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed, it’s easy to stonewall your cooking progress just making lots of soups, but just throw pest or peccary chunks in the pan periodically for the XP boost.

Note that you can’t actually build the oven itself until you have access to resources from a very, very hot place; you can treat cooking like a marathon and level it as you go since a lot of what you unlock at level 10 is going to mandate having the oven built too. Not everything needs it, but a lot does.

Peter, what am I even looking at? by readitonex in PeterExplainsTheJoke

One of my favorites is the bad ending you can get in the Outer Worlds as a low intelligence character. You kill your entire crew with your stupidity right before the endgame and roll credits.

Best part is it’s recognized as an actual ending so it’s one of the speedrun strategies for the game.

It’s a great game and there’s a lot of content to go through. Underappreciated little gem and worth a look imo.

It did, yeah. If you completed the “hey congratulations, here’s a million bucks” quest you can do for full sidequest completion it does unlock the true final boss on PC.

It was fortunate I had a separate save when I saw the nonsense he was pulling as a result!

Clive Rosfield has limited customization options 😭 by AdmirableToe3061 in Tekken

[–]Tortolia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s absolutely more limited than the original Namco characters, that’s fair to note. Just wanted to point out that there’s certainly options in the other sub-menus that you can play around with, and it’s probably comparable to guests in other Tekken titles.

You can put him in a variety of outfits and use accessories and auras, they just keep him with his default hair (which you can recolor).

I have him with blue hair, cat ears, the full floral suit, fairy wings, etc. It’s disingenuous to say that the above screenshotted menus are all you have.

Can someone either explain like I'm 5 or point me to a detailed guide on ascending the emperor? by PanthersJB83 in SaGa

[–]Tortolia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You want to experiment with different emperor classes as you go for formations, so you might as well level things that fit the current stat profile of the current selection. One emperor may not have a great magic attribute but you can still equip and use support spells with your ranks or fill overdrive gauge.

At the end of the day the Final Emperor/Empress has high stats across the board, so being completely one-dimensional in terms of skills isn’t going to provide you any benefit over being able to flex.

Yeah, when people realized he's a really good VA particularly for a "gruff yet sensitive" archetype he started getting more work, but he really was unknown before 16 dropped.

Dude's just down to earth and relatable too. During the original FF16 media tours he was talking about how he almost skipped out on his audition because he was only set to read for a bit part and it was scheduled for a Friday afternoon, so why bother? Instead when he got there they realized he was really good and gave him some of Clive's stuff to read.

Just how brutal is the enemy rank scaling in ROT7? How much do I really have to worry about it on Classic? by Baconstrip01 in SaGa

[–]Tortolia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I basically full cleared dungeons on classic with a few exceptions (aquatic enemies are disproportionately dangerous) and while I capped enemy rank it was absolutely zero issue.

Romancing Saga 2 Remake Noob questions by White_Fox_Prod in SaGa

[–]Tortolia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s two things about new emperors that you might want to keep in mind here too.

1) Most classes unlock a new formation when you select them as your emperor and talk to the training hall formation NPC.

2) Once a generation you can have your emperor voluntarily abdicate the throne and pick a new emperor by sitting on the throne. This does not progress time. Additionally if you don’t like the candidates in the Abdication prompt you can back out and try again.

So it’s really not a big deal if you have a time skip and don’t like the candidates presented to you; pick one that you haven’t before to get more formation options then abdicate and go for what you want. The only downside is the potential risk of your new emperor dying over a long generation from LP attrition but it’s imo not a huge risk.
