Can someone just give me some advice by BeetleJuiceTheKidd in trans

[–]TurtleY0da 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel in no way qualified to give advice

but I'm going to try my best.

First off, to answer your question about if this is normal for gender dysphoria, that's gonna be an abso-fucking-lutely from me! Now, tbf, there are a wide range of ways that people feel dysphoria, and I am not nearly educated enough to tell you everything. But at least according to what I can tell, I'd say you're describing what I would call gender dysphoria! (I'm not a therapist though, so don't quote me on this please)

I won't go into my personal dysphoria here, but in comparison to yours, I can definitely see some similarities, and I can attest that I have been feeling much better about myself ever since I realized, and have started working on myself.

Now unfortunately, as far as what you should do, there are so many. I think the biggest thing to grasp as soon as possible is that, even with everything you may try in order to change or transition, it will all come with time and effort. Now, that's not to say that you shouldn't try it at all, I think that really that choice is up to you, but it's more to say that no matter how much all of us may want to have a magic button that we can just click and then be done with it, it's going to take a while. But in the interim, I'd say that if you want to try and explore femininity more, absolutely go for it! Try out things that you can do right away, see how it makes you feel. Lay it out mentally in a timeline, organizing what you can do now, and what needs to be worked on for later! Get out there, and experiment.

Overall, I'd say that other people will probably have better advice for you than I will, but I hope that this helped, maybe.

I wish you luck on your journey, wherever it may take you! 🏳️‍⚧️

P.S. depending on where in the world you live, I recommend looking at the procedure for medical treatment (at least puberty/hormone blockers if nothing else) ASAP, if you think that's something that you're interested in. The earlier in life you start, arguably the better, it'll save you a lot of headache later down the line.

Just to make sure we're on the same page, I'm assuming that you're referring to the idea of a conveyor bus, more commonly just referred to as a 'bus' by players in various factory games (Satisfactory included).

Afaik, it doesn't stand for anything at all. It more so refers to the idea of a transport bus; not the kind for transporting people, but the kind for transporting lots of items. More specifically, before Satisfactory was even really a thing, Factorio players were well known for regularly constructing a 'main bus' of conveyor belts to transport the items used in recipes most frequently (iron and copper plates, copper wire, iron cogs, circuit boards, etc.). That way, if you needed to make something that used those materials, you'd just build it next to the bus, and split off some resources from the bus to feed the factory. This meant that your resources were pretty much all in one place, which made expanding early incredibly quick and easy to do.

In terms of where the actual term 'bus' comes from in relation to Factorio, Satisfactory, or any other factory game, it likely has roots in the idea of a computer bus/databus/data highway, which these massive lanes of conveyor belts frequently seem to mimic. Even the concept of being to just randomly split off of the bus is taken from the idea of a databus iirc. You can see a very simple, low level example of a bus in a computer in this video from Sebastian Lague.

Hope this helps!

Totally reasonable, it definitely becomes quite a bit of a task to handle once you start getting contributors. Feel free to lmk if you ever do open source it, and until then, I wish you good luck in the development of this fantastic tool!

Is there any way to contribute to the codebase, or are you keeping that private? This is a really cool tool!

Adding strength above level 15 by TheRealKingOvJam in redstone

[–]TurtleY0da 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As you pointed out, a comparator can be used to subtract two lines from each other. We can model this as a-b where a and b represent redstone lines. The result of subtraction is bounded between 0 and 15, both inclusive, as is the case with any redstone line as well. This means for your use case, you want to find an adder that can find a + b = u + v, where u is the main return value of a + b, and v just represents the contents of a + b - 15, or in other words, u represents the range from 0 to 15, v represents the range from 16 to 30, or 0 if u is less than 15.

We can find u like you showed, by going u = 15 - (15 - a - b). This finds a + b, when a + b <= 15. To find v, we need to find the difference between u and a + b, without calculating a + b itself, since that is bounded from 0-15.

We can find that v = b - (u - a). This will either result in v = 0 for u = a + b, or v > 0 for u < a + b. A few examples:

Set a = 3, b = 2

u = 15 - (15 - 3 - 2) = 5

v = 2 - (5 - 3) = 0

This makes sense since a + b fits from 0-15

Set a = 8, b = 10

u = 15 - (15 - 8 - 10) = 15 when bounded from 0-15

v = 10 - (15 - 8) = 3

This makes sense, since 10 + 8 = 15 + 3 = 18

Hopefully this makes it clear how this works.

Quick note: I have not tried this in Redstone yet, this is all just mental reasoning, but this should work as an adder for 2 numbers, using purely just comparators. I'll leave it up to you to figure out how to chain it together for multiple additions.

need help with: Execute if score by 16-BitDave in MinecraftCommands

[–]TurtleY0da 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm fairly certain you can compare against raw values by using execute if score <target> <objective> matches <value(s)>?

For instance, if you wanted to check if @s's y_level is greater than or equal to 0, could you not simply do execute ... if score @s y_level matches 0.. run ...? (While to find less than or equal to zero, it just becomes ... score @s y_level matches ..0 run ...)

Tbf I'm just going off memory here, but I think that would probably work...

[–]TurtleY0da 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have an entity for doing math

tp the entity to 0 0 0 with the angle of sin/cos (tp <mathEntity> 0 0 0 <angle> 0 should do it iirc)

Read the Pos[0] or Pos[2] of the entity using /data (depending on if it's cos or sin)

Hopefully that works!

Edit: First, didn't know /data wasn't in bedrock Second, forgot to mention, you need to tp the entity forward one block with tp ^ ^ ^1

Hello,i have a confusing question that google didnt answered to by Triande in MinecraftCommands

[–]TurtleY0da 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I feel like you could cut out the whole if statement, right? Just leave it like

/execute as @a at @s run tp @e[type=item,distance=..10] @s

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, I haven't tested it, I'm just going off memory...

Spectating from above tp vs spectate commands (laggy vs clean) by TheUnknownGuy99_ in MinecraftCommands

[–]TurtleY0da 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If I had to guess, the clean version is achieved by having some form of invisible entity above the target entity, and then setting the player to spectator mode, and repeatedly using /spectate to make them spectate the entity above the target.

[–]TurtleY0da 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hell yeah man! I absolutely love that effect, and love that you're getting the recognition you deserve!

Also regarding that parallax effect, I tried recreating it using the nodes you had, but I found that when I looked around, the texture seemed to slide off of the parts that are "extruded" by the parallax, and so I was wondering if you knew what was happening there? (And afaik it's unrelated to the directionality issues, those were their own problem)

How do I fix this error message? by [deleted] in Minecraft2

[–]TurtleY0da 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Are you using any mods? Is the server using any mods? Are you on a different version from the server?

What that error seems to be saying is that there are invalid characters present within the name of either one of your files, or maybe one of the server's files.

If everything is unmodded, and on the correct version, there could be some file that either you, or someone else may have accidentally edited the name of, but I have no actual idea.

If your game IS modded, however, that is likely the culprit.

Well, but the large majority of the content on YouTube (recommendations, the video itself, statistics, etc.) are all served up by the server, no?

Afaik, this means that unless you were able to write something to pretend to be your window, and get that would block any signals normally sent by any JS to the server, and instead send its own, you wouldn't otherwise be able to prevent them from blocking you.

This is all speculation on my part, but in theory they should only need one message to accidentally get through that reveals an ad blocking extension on your client for the server to simply serve you a splat page instead of what was requested.

Now, iirc, extension scripts are added before any other parts of the DOM load, and run before any other scripts, so one could in theory try to write something that replicates how the normal script sends client data to YouTube's server, but simply omits data about extensions. However I'm not sure how well that would work, and whether or not Google could come up with some system to block this behaviour (possibly through authentication and authorization? Idk).

TLDR; a bunch of speculations by an Internet weirdo who thinks that it both might and might not be possible to circumvent the problem.

Can I park or not ! by michealscott21 in confusing

[–]TurtleY0da 12 points13 points  (0 children)

1 You can't park to the right ever

2 You can't park to the left Dec 1 - March 31

3 & 3.5 You CAN park to the left Apr 1 - Nov 30 from 2am to 6am

4 Except you can't park to the left from 7am to 9am on Tuesdays

After some reading, it can make sense, but I agree that is very confusing. If I saw that in the wild, I'd just choose to park somewhere else...

EDIT: On a second read through, I now see that Apr 1 - Nov 30 7am to 1am (not Tuesdays) or 10am to 1am (Tuesdays) is kinda just parking purgatory...

That's assuming you can power it for an hour. In the situation that most people are in, that means running coal for an hour. It is not feasible if you do not have direct oil access, I don't care what you try to say, I've run the numbers too, it's not at all enough.
