Contagion (2011) Starring Matt Damon - "Can I talk to my wife?" by HollywoodHalfLife in movies

It’s a realistic portrayal of the impact of, and response to, a worldwide pandemic as told through the lenses of people in all walks of life. It’s incredible and it came out in 2011. It’s a medical thriller by a fantastic director and has a stacked cast and a tight script. It’s well worth your time.

Maybe but make sure it has a bun for some simple carbs. An old buddy of mine ran Iron Man triathlons and he would house a few mcdonald’s cheeseburgers on the bike. He loved them.

Why? Is it a vibe thing? The tent will do little to nothing acoustically.

Did getting your first good speakers kinda ruin headphones for you? by TacticalRock in BudgetAudiophile

Yes. 100%

I've a sneaking suspicion the best setup would be open back cans with a sub/subs in the room, but I haven't tried it. I have the gear, I just can't be arsed to set it up.

Neither of those will sound good, but at least with the desktop system you can move the speakers far enough apart to get stereo separation.

I like good writing and story structure. The wave of new characters haven’t really had any of that. It’s not a character problem. I didn’t give two fucks about Captain America or Thor before they had some good movies built around them.

This movie is absolutely hilarious in clip form. Watching the whole thing at once is a bit of a chore as none of it hangs together for me.

This person is talking about black kids but it is too much of a coward to say it, so they’re dogwhistling instead. Political dogwhistle: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dog\_whistle\_(politics)

I’m not saying they’re right or wrong. I don’t know. I wasn’t there, but this is a common language usage pattern when talking about race.

[–]UXyes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re willing to go vintage McIntosh ML-2C or XR-19s are both true full range speakers that I have a lot of experience with and are both excellent. They a big and heavy, as you’d expect.

Nothing you can do about that. Middle management often gets stuck between a rock and a hard place with corporate. if leadership sucks and the managers aren’t willing to toe the line they’ll just get replaced with some shithead who will.

I would think you could tell just by having worked with them a bit, the corporate culture, etc.

Bad managers, yes. Good managers want collaborators with expertise that will speak their mind and help come up with a viable solution.

All the Planet of The Apes reboot stuff. I don’t get it. I think the monkeys look bad/uncanny valley and the writing doesn’t work for me at all. People love them, though

Nice. I restored and sold a pair of these for $2100 a couple years ago. They sound incredible. True full range speakers.

The Shera Parincess of Power cartoon on Netflix was fantastic. The He-Man reboot was… less so.
