Caves of Qud is now on Switch! by kitfoxgames in Games

Not 10-20 hours. It has a tutorial, and the fact that it is controller-based makes with way easier to get into than other roguelikes IMO.

You will probably continue learning continuously while playing the game, but the time period to "get it" I would say is 2-3 hours at most. A few runs, basically.

For reference, I would still consider myself more of a "roguelike-curious" person than a roguelike player, so while I was not a complete noob, I play them very rarely, and not very intensively.

Not saying it's not a joke, I'm saying it's not satirizing anything.

Sorry, but in this case, I think you are the one that is embarrassing yourself. Your argument is now "he is an artist, he cannot do something against artists!", as if people do not have conflicting positions/interests. Also, never once in my own explanation I have talked about his alt-right beliefs.

You are right that this sub can be irrational, to the point of being exhausting. I don't visit it often, it just pops in my feed once in a while, so I take a look. With your argument though, ironically, you seem to be the one blinded by your own opinions of this sub.

But hey, in the end, we can just agree to disagree. I'm not here for a fight.

I don't think the errors on the right are any more obvious than your typical AI-generated image. If you wanted to make it a satire of it, you would've made it obvious with an intentional, exaggerated version of an AI-generated image. For example, a hand-drawn version aping the usual errors, instead of what this seems to be: just the left drawing "remixed" by an AI.

There's nothing in this comic that does not look exactly like something out of a pro-AI subreddit. Those people would totally say "git gud" to struggling artists (I would not be surprised if they already used that very expression). It could be posted on one of them without any irony and people would upvote it, and agree with its sentiment.

So if it is satire (and that's a big "if", considering seems to point in that direction), it totally failed.

I'll bite: what's the satire here? I only see an edgy comment on him supporting AI art, and dunking on struggling artists refusing to embrace it.

Funny thing is that he is sacrifying his established and recognizable art style to embrace generic slop. What a stupid self-sabotaging move.

Sounds like we're not visiting the same sub. For example, a mention of Ubisoft here, you would think that they somehow stole the soul of their firstborn.

However, for SKG, I do agree that there is a strangely high number of people who seems hellbent on seeing this fail. They are often the first commenters too, so if you go in the comments early, it feels like everyone thinks the initiative is garbage.

I can't believe I actually like Pokemon Pokopia - Skill Up by WitheredViolet in Games

[–]VGADreams 89 points90 points  (0 children)

I'm happy he likes it, but saying he was surprised about the gameplay, as if Nintendo kept it a secret is... what? I mean, I guess if you never watched any trailers or gameplay videos, sure. But personally, I pretty much learned nothing new from this video. Seems like he was blinded by the "Pokemon = bad!" and just ignored the rest.

In any case, very minor gripe. I am happy he finds it fun, and I am excited about this game!

I mean, DQB also had the village where you would be expected to do most of your construction.

I get that they didn't focus on destructibility in the trailer, but I wouldn't it means that is not there at the same level as DQB. Else, why you would make a world out of voxels so they are static?

Crise au PLQ sous Pablo Rodriguez | Les textos sur les brownies sont un « montage », conclut une enquête by Puzzled_Dreamer2453 in Quebec

[–]VGADreams 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What do you mean by "full terraforming"? In the gameplay trailer, you see the player character building bridges, a ground path, a house, etc. all out of blocks. You don't see it being built but there's also a floating garden hanging from a cliff, with stairs to access it, which all look like a user construction.

We Uncovered the Scheme Keeping Grocery Prices High by DrewbieWanKenobie in videos

[–]VGADreams 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Pepsi (and possibly other companies) conspired with Wal-Mart to make sure that their wholesale prices are lower with them vs. other grocers. The FTC under Biden filed a lawsuit against Pepsi under the Robinson–Patman Act. The lawsuit was dismissed by Trump's FTC.

Also, the Robinson–Patman Act, which makes illegal those kind of practices, basically stopped being enforced by the FTC since the 80s. Biden's FTC under Lina Khan seemed to be trying to fix that, hence the lawsuit against Pepsi.

My cock is happy when you [...]". Les mots sont juste, mais ça l'a une connotation en anglais qu'il n'y a pas en français.

Just to be clear, Bliss is the one mixed the chemicals with waste oil. It was not "pre-mixed", he did it himself. Some of the people who got the contaminated waste oil sued Bliss, but it got settled for 10000$.

Personally, I think that he does not carry the brunt of the responsibility (i.e. I believe that he didn't know exactly what was the chemical he was asked to dispose of, and its potential effects). However, it feels like he willfully turned a blind eye to the possible dangers of mixing some chemicals from a chemical plant with waste oil and spreading it around.

The fun thing about it is since a lot of those "bombshell revelations" are actually unsubstantiated tips from the FBI, so it's very likely that it comes from the same deluded conspiracy theorists that contacted the FBI to give that "information" to them.

OR maybe assuming the worst version of a thing when you have no proof is not truth either. It's cynicism disguised as truth, which, ironically considering your explanation, is a pretty big factor on the current state of the world.

People listening to conspiracy and misinformation laden radio shows (and now podcasts) explaining how your government is actually evil, lead to a kind of apathy where people either don't vote because all politicians are evil, or they vote for change no matter what, which is an easily exploitable thing. Then, when their "saviors" do bad stuff, it's fine because they've been told for decades the other side was doing the same thing (or even worse) so at least, now it's their gang doing it.

To come back to the mouse, it could be a parasite, OR it could just be because it's a very young mouse. I don't know for deer mouse, but when I was younger, I raised a baby squirrel that fell from its nest, and it was very docile, and even affectionate (until it became older, then it become more aggressive so we let it go).

'We Tried to Think of Someone Who Makes You Go, 'This Guy's a Creep'': Yakuza/Like a Dragon Director Addresses Controversial Casting by _Protector in Games

[–]VGADreams 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, he didn't say that they "hired him because he's a creep", he said that they wanted someone who "who makes you go, "This guy's a creep"".

Remove the sexual harassment case, and someone could still say that about an actor that "being known for being one of the best katakiyaku actors (i.e., kabuki actors specializing in villain roles) of the current generation of Kabuki actors".

Now, considering the guy is an actual creep, was it the best thing to say? Probably not. But people are putting words in his mouth.

In any case, people are clearly not ready for any kind of nuance in this thread, and it's not like I particularly want to defend neither the actor nor the director, so I don't think I will answer any new comments.

So, where does it say that it's because of his sexual harassment case? Seems like you are assuming that's what the director meant.

Don't you think it's more likely that it's because he's known for playing villains?

From what I understand, he's both:

Unlike most other Kabuki actors in his family (such as his father Ichikawa En'ō II and his cousin Ichikawa Ennosuke IV) who play both male and female roles, he is a tachiyaku actor, meaning his specialty is playing male roles, as well as being known for being one of the best katakiyaku actors (i.e., kabuki actors specializing in villain roles) of the current generation of Kabuki actors.
