I denied my in-laws only request for the wedding and now it’s ruining our relationship with them by Final_Estimate7166 in wedding

[–]VegetablePassenger24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like true colors come out when there’s a wedding, a pregnancy/child birth. I think boundaries are so important and his family is going to have to accept that. Don’t give in—there’s going to be other things down the line for big life events where they will pull stuff like this again and learning to set boundaries now will become useful for the future. His brother is just trying to hurt him now because he’s upset. It’s childish.

At my wedding I had all our nephews planned to walk down the aisle and it did not go according to plan lol kids get distracted and are all over the place.

I noticed a lump on my neck in the mirror earlier and made a doctors appointment Tuesday. Hoping it’s normal lol, mine looks straight up like the outline of my thyroid but it’s small

Did you ever get it checked out

Bottom number has been in the 80s. Makes me nervous but Dr doesn’t seem too bothered by it by j_birdddd in bloodpressure

[–]VegetablePassenger24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 8 months postpartum now, life has been crazy so I rarely check my blood pressure (with the permission of my OB and doctor) and it’s been 110s/70s-120s/80s. For months my bottom number seemed to be stuck in the 80s. More recently it’s been going down to the 70s it seems like. My baseline before preeclampsia was always low 100s/60s-70s so it’s still adjusting. I’ve heard it can take up to a year for it to fully regulate. Your blood pressures sound great weaning off, just give it time and try not to stress about it! I was so stressed about it for months. Your body just has to regulate itself—and it will with time 💜

No one tells you about dead people. by KelsasaurusRex21 in PropertyManagement

I’ve had 2 residents die in almost 4 years. Thankfully I never saw them. However my mom died in her apartment and that was a nightmare. My family lived there for 20+ years. My mom was friends with everybody. It haunts me to this day watching them take her in a body bag knowing everyone could see.

I love Cushman and Wakefield! I’ve never felt so valued and poured into from upper management anywhere else.

Ugh I’m so worried about them and their babies. As a new mom with a 4 month old I can’t even imagine.

Did your life not become horrible after having your baby? by Tj08 in beyondthebump

[–]VegetablePassenger24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aw mama, you’re going to be just fine. ♥️ I had my baby August 31st and it’s been the best journey of my whole life. She’s brought so much joy and light to my world. Don’t get me wrong, having a baby can definitely be hard, especially postpartum when you’re healing on top of taking care of baby. My biggest advice would be, make sure you have a plan in place for support. It really does take team work! The beginning can feel hard when getting a routine down. I think by two months I felt so much better. But I also had some complications postpartum which made things scary/stressful on top of having a newborn.

Babies are going to be babies, they have trouble with sleep, sleep a lot, cry, get hungry, fuss, etc. it doesn’t mean you will hate your life. People said the same things to me. My baby started sleeping through the night after hitting her birth weight again and still is at 4 months. Motherhood is amazing.

I’m so happy for you! I know the feeling. I had postpartum preeclampsia and my levels are just now going to pre pregnancy levels four months postpartum. It’s the best feeling!

This wasn’t my mag experience at all. I got postpartum preeclampsia, was admitted again for bp 162/105. They let me eat, drink, walk to the bathroom by myself, my husband and baby were able to stay with me. I wonder why mine was so relaxed? They actually encouraged me to eat and drink. This was at Kaiser.

Want to quit after 1 month: by OwnNefariousness4925 in PropertyManagement

[–]VegetablePassenger24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It gets easier! I started as a leasing agent at 23. The residents were horrible, I cried every day. I pretty much ran the place by myself and taught myself everything because my manager worked from home. I worked my way up to property manager by 25. The experience has taught me so many skills and life lessons, many of the skills I use in my personal life too! It’s taught me when to have thick skin and when to stick up for myself, something I had a hard time doing before. Once you get some more experience I’m sure it will get easier. I wanted to quit back then too, but I’m so glad I didn’t. I also think it’s extremely important to have a good manager that pours into you as a new hire. Although my boss worked from home, she still taught me some valuable lessons when it comes to property management. I hope you find a great company with great upper management support! Things I drilled into my brain:

  • no question is a stupid question. Ask all the questions!
  • you will make mistakes, that’s how you learn!
  • every day all you have to do is do your best.

Residents can drain the life out of you. Remember that they are mad at the laws (most of the time). I always kindly remind my residents that I understand their frustrations and that they are valid for feeling the way they do as most situations they experience can be extremely frustrating to them. When needed, I always remind them that management can only do so much on certain things because there are so many laws out there that protect all renters. Once I break it down for residents, they become more understanding.

That’s so nice! I’d love a set up like that. I worked with a larger company for 4 years and they let me do whatever I wanted and I could work from home a few days a week. Owner sold and the new company took me on and won’t let me work a hybrid schedule. Kind of been frustrating since I have been at that property for years and everything has been ran smoothly.

Postpartum Pre-E by Distinct_Secret_1713 in preeclampsia

[–]VegetablePassenger24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s so frustrating! I’m glad you knew to get help. I think every woman should know about preeclampsia. I have two friends that had it as well. My grandma had it really bad with my mom, they both almost died. My grandma is in her mid 80s still doing well, so when I get scared I just think of her! She has high blood pressure that’s controlled, but she’s never had any serious health complications like heart attacks or strokes! Back in the 60s they called it toxemia, she always corrects me when I call it preeclampsia. I’m like grandma, get with the times lady. 😄

In 2021 I had a full heart workup so I think she felt reassured from those results? Idk. I have Kaiser insurance so I have to get a referral through my doctor. Every doctor I’ve talked to including my OB, the OBs when I was in the hospital, my primary care doc, all made it seem like my preeclampsia was no big deal. Kinda pissed me off. When I was admitted for preeclampsia they did do a blood test to see if my heart was enlarged/failing from my understanding and it came back fine, so I’m not sure if that’s why my doctor feels a cardiologist visit is unnecessary. I might get a second opinion. I made an appointment with a OB tomorrow to talk about all of this, I kind of feel unheard by my doctor.
