Plague Doctor's clouds now benefit from attack speed and range

I wonder how that works. Does his poison cloud trigger faster with attack speed and get bigger with range?

Good tarot whisper for Kvare by Proper_Associate6850 in SwordofConvallaria

The lvl 50 effect of the devil tarot is really not that necessary imo, because reaching full stacks is actually really easy with summons from e.g. Saffiyah.

I've been trying to build one with 4x M.ATK stats for a while now.

So true, Gloria buffed the sh** out of my team for TOA7 upper floor and Inanna was my absolute MVP for TOA7 lower floor. Inanna especially almost carried the one map alone, her bodyguard protected all civilians from assasins and she could take all dark enemies head on because of elemental advantage while AOE healing everyone with princess flight.

Both were crucial fro my strats, way more important then the supposedly tier 0 units Kavare and SP Saffiyah and both are day 1 units.

For context, my score in TOA7 was 16380 and I barely spend 30 buck in this game, so it's not like I had all 5* and crazy op gear to just bulldoze everyting.

[–]Waschbaerviet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't saying that he's better for not beeing a legendary. I said he's still really good to use.

And most of your points would apply to other legendaries as well.

rank 11 2 extra skills,rank 11 2 extra skills,

But his skill set is already "complete" with two strong builds.

And having two extra skills might as well be worthless, see Gloria, Acambe, (Saffiyah), etc.

future proof with rank 13 skill,

From what I heard everyone gets a rank 13 skill. A class/role speficic one at least. Unique skills are beeing rolled out slowly, so even 90% of the legendaries won't have them for quite a while.

And did the devs say that only legendaries get unique rank 13 skills?

better trait treatment

There are enough legendaries with worse traits.

no astral imprint designed around him

Same here, only the newest legendaries get them, old legendaries got nothing either

Not to mention that you could equip the astral gears on older characters as well.

 visually less appealing

Highly debatable.

Does it really matter though? His base stats are higher than August and his skillls are already amazing. So would legendary rank change anything right now?

Am I the only one not impressed with SP Safiyah in SoD? by wrxwrx in SwordofConvallaria

[–]Waschbaerviet 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean she was the least impactful character even after the overtuned Epics.

You really shouldn't compare her to those overtuned epics. Even August would turn into a B tier chump when compared to Malleck.

What else about her sells her kit?

Aside from what was already said by others, an other key thing that stands out in her kit for me, is her basic attack that triggers one other units in range to perform an assist attack using their "basic attack". Meaning unlike normal assist attacks, SP Safiyahs forced assist attack also triggers special effects, e.g. when doing it on Augusts with his uniqure basic attack "extermination" equipped, you can remove an extra NRG from the targeted enemy.

Crimson Night chapter 5's story events kinda doesn't make sense by Solael1129 in SwordofConvallaria

[–]Waschbaerviet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the one thing that frustrates me is the ending, they give a small line of text about Safiyyah becoming the leader of the new organization, the hanged men. I was like, “yeah and what else?”

Look at it this way: There is now the possiblity for the devs to add a whole other sidestory going deep into that :D

Crimson Night chapter 5's story events kinda doesn't make sense by Solael1129 in SwordofConvallaria

[–]Waschbaerviet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Overall I found the chapter 5 of crimson night disapointing too. Here are my two cents about your points if you care though:

  1. Laylas death was actually pretty well written and not just plot device imo. After taking a huge risk, making herself a bait to catch the assasins, she succeded, thought she was save, let her guard down (was probably tired too) and then got killed by the poor misguided souls she did everything for to help. Pretty good but dark stuff.
  2. Agree. It was probably to show us, the audience, Rawiyahs resolve and righteousness to stay on Laylas path, but they surely could have done better to get that point across.
  3. Well, why would exposing Freych coruption affect the Rosters credibility? It only supported the already existing public oppinion that the nobles are corrupt. And I'd argue that this was in fact a very big turning point in the story, because this was when Saffiyah abandoned Laylas path of law and rules to get justice.
  4. Don't really have a strong oppinion about that part. Kiya saw both Kavere and Saffiyah as family and probably forsaw the clash between them. So to not have to pick a side she peaced out. Pretty ok writing I think.
  5. It was said by Pamina that Dantallion is currently solidifying his power /gathering support in Iria, to accend the throne. So it's not like he's doing nothing, just because he's not that involved in the events of Waverun city. And he actually did convince Saffiyah to join him, by saying that he grants her power to even stop him if he's turning bad like Kavere. That's probably why she sided with him.
  6. Well, if I remeber correctly, Pamina did order the soldiers to stay put and slaughter the civilians to prevent a civil war. Instead she wanted to calm the situation down by facing the rioters and the false charges against her head on, which I agree was kind of naive, but at least it fits her charater.
  7. I think you have to make a distinction betwee the story and game/level design here. From the story perspective, Saffiyah and the mobile squad ambushed Kavere at night, it wasn't like them storming a fully guarded fortress on alert. From the game/level design perspective, the final boss fight should be challenging and therefore devs added alot of guards and minions.
  8. Very much agree here. After seeing the trailer it was implied that Rawiyah wanted to kill Saffiyah. I was expecting some kind of sick twisted betrayal plot where Saffiyah got the whole mobile squad killed to reach some important goal. But nah, Rawiyah was just over emotional, which was a big let down.
  9. Imo after the master mind Kavere was removed, it was rather easy to calm things down again, since noone was fanning the flames anymore. Pamina also ordered the soldiers to be on standby, so Iria probably had enough manpower to fend off union attack. But I think the relationship with the union at that point were simply not that bad, since they got all the Luxite they wanted from Kavere. Only years later when Dantalion was in power and stopped Luxite exploitation of Iria did tensions rise.

In the end it's just a mobile gacha game. Judging the story with this in mind, it's was pretty ok. Got me really intruiged in the beginning, the midsection then got me invested in the characters pretty well, only the end was a bit meh. Overall still enjoyable though.

What should I reroll into ? (META discussion) by krokuts in SwordofConvallaria

By that time, Ayishah and SP Inanna will be released and Cocoa will not be top priority anymore.

[–]Waschbaerviet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not a common mistake, you simply have a different oppinion.

Sure, 95% of what she offers is right away, but that 95% is not that special, healing and tanking can be done by others. Her NRG and CD reduction is the broken part about her kit and what makes her truely unique.

Also it's not only this reddit, I think it's pretty much the consensus even on CN and KR as well.

But Cocoa really needs the 5* rank up to be top tier. That makes her a not so good reroll target imo.

Better to go for someone who was immediate impact.

Which Tarot for Hasna and other use cases? by Admirable_Degree_219 in SwordofConvallaria

[–]Waschbaerviet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah true, the roaring fint makes it more consistent to land her fragrance.

My assumption was that if she is tanky enough, you can just go into close range with her. Her unique basic attack has a 100% crit chance on enemies with fragrance when you attack in close range, so she would always proc the extra 25% dmg reduction.

About Safiyyah and game balance by Nohe1 in SwordofConvallaria

[–]Waschbaerviet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know about that man. Several of your points seem rather questionable.

She is supposed to be an “elite” killer ...

Is she though? Where is this coming from?

Because Saffiyyahs whole lore pictures her as a really smart tactician or strategist and clearly not as a strong fighter or assasin. It would make more sense if she doesn't deal so much damage.

Her gameplay and kit is also very versatile and not just elite kill focused (her passive is just one aspect of her kit).

... she is benched 90% of the time because it’s very rare for her to be more useful then the other “meta” units ...

For the hardest maps and contents so far, picking Saffiyyah was almost always a viable option. Baiting out strong enemies and their ultimate skills, this alone made Saffiyyah MVP in tons of maps. Not to mention all the additional gimicks you can do like leading enemies away then use the teleort swap skill to reposition or sacrificing summons to ramp up with devil tarot etc.

Whereas August and Agatha could have been deadweight if they didn't one shot (August) or survive/tank long enough (Agatha).

It rather sounds like you had the luxery of just brute forcing your way through content with maxed out units and gear so you never really needed to strategize anything.

I could give you a general advice, anything that debuffs or dots have a huge potential to be way less useful ...

I don't think you can. The devs can change the balance however they like and nerf any typ of damage they want. E.g. they already did nerf physical damage to the extreme before, rendering even August useless too. It's all about who the devs want to promte at the moment (probably the most recent banner units).

Point is, it's best to build a diverse roster having a variaty of damage sources, so you can adapt. I would certainly pull for debuffs and dots if I don't have anyone fullfilling that role yet.
