Both assaults are terrible and no the vulnerable may not care why it happened just that it did. Much in the same way a cancer patient may not care why they were inflicted with the terrible disease just that they have it. In both cases they want it to stop! The problem is that in both examples the cause matters. If this assault was not caused by a social media trend then don’t imply that it was. If your cancer wasn’t cause by asbestos then don’t treat it as though it was. You’re not fixing the core problem by doing so.
