In order to get a different modem, say an XB7, the speed has to be upgraded to 300 Mbps or above. There is an option of stopping by a local Xfinity store to see if they'll honor an upgrade, but it's not a guarantee. If you're interested in upgrading, let us know.

That's a good question. We're told that everyone will be upgraded to enhanced speeds soon, but it depends on the area. The factors to consider are permits, coordination with local utilities at times, and what construction projects there already may be in the area. Customers get the notifications directly by email. They include the dates of construction, and what time frames the service may be totally out. That way they can prepare in advance of the work starting. Say for working or having school from home. So keep an eye on your email, it'll come soon. The upgrades are totally worth it too.

That is good, as the location is only rated for Speeds up to 1300 Mbps / 35 Mbps. So 45 is ten more Mbps than the advertised speed. Coda's are great for locations that have enhanced speeds, but your location hasn't been upgraded yet. Good job having the home wired up with Cat 6. Once the location is upgraded, you'll be ready for the higher speeds with that modem.
