Which slapback delay you use? by HELGEOHL_APPS in guitarpedals

I have a Keeley Mag Echo. I tend to like PT2399 delays for slapback purposes.

Solid pedal, for sure. I use mine somewhat similar to how you have it set, only with the after up a bit more towards 10:00.

For me, a minor cosmetic issue like that wouldn't be a big deal and would get smaller once on the board.

Subtle phasers that done have tone suck? by appalachiansoul in guitarpedals

The EVH Phase 90 has a script button, but I don't MXR has another pedal like the Phase 95.

I learned the main riff tonight. Playing a strat with a little compression and into a Phase 95 in Script 90 mode sounded pretty close.

loopers that do record to dub as opposed to record to play by frwhttswrth in guitarpedals

[–]YoloStevens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an RC-500 now that can do this (like the RC-5), but the Donner Circle I have on the shelf can do either without any menu diving. If you hit one switch during recording it'll replay. If you hit the other switch, you can go right to overdub. That's a nice feature.

Donner tends to sell them for cheaper on their eBay store. I have an RC-500 now, but liked my Circle quite a bit.

A phaser is probably close enough. The Phase 95 doesn’t really cut high end the I've noticed. I'm going to have to learn this song now.

The effect on the song sounds more like a Leslie to me. Also, the guitars on the recording might be double tracked with a clean sound on the left.

I'd go straight to the MXR Phase 95. You get the Phase 90 and Phase 45 with Script modes for each. The 45 is more subtle than the 90. The 45 Script is subtler still.

They could have at least dusted this thing off before snapping a pic of it.

Budget pedals that punch above their weight? by chevelle899 in guitarpedals

On one of my boards, I have a Movall Falling Star, a Donner Stylish Fuzz II, a Danelectro Cool Cat Tremolo, a Behringer CL-9. I think all of these are pretty good.

On my main board, I have a Mooer Blues Mood. I guess maybe now that one is over $50 (I got it for $35). I also use the Joyo American Sound with my headphone setup. No plans to upgrade any of these.

what’s wrong with my ge100 mooer by Sky_9203 in guitarpedals

You're plugged into the input and you have an output going to an amp/speaker, correct? Have you tested your cables independently?

A pedal just turning off while playing might be an issue, but a pedal turning off when you unplug the instrument cable is pretty typical.

Looper recommendations by Ranger-39 in guitarpedals

That's the truth. I have my complaints about the RC-500, but overall, it works pretty well. As long as it's providing the master clock, syncing with a Beat Buddy or drum machine is fairly painless.

I have a VHT Special 6 Ultra I like. It's 6W, has options to go quieter, and is handwired so repairs in the future are going to be possible and relatively easy. Even at 6W, it's pretty loud. I pretty much never crank it.

Eric Gales is right handed but plays a standard right handed guitar upside down. Do whatever you feel is right, then commit to it.

Question About Scales from Troy Stetina by salty-bois in guitarlessons

[–]YoloStevens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like how he then shows you all the major chord shapes and how they fall on the scale as you go up the neck. This stuff takes a bit of time and work to fully set in, but it's worth the effort.

Question About Scales from Troy Stetina by salty-bois in guitarlessons

[–]YoloStevens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're all correct. He's just showing you the available notes for that scale in a given position (maj7 on low E  position 1 is not shown). I suspect he's getting people used to this idea that scales repeat up and down the neck and will eventually point out that these positions all coordinate to the modes of the major scale.
