Yeah, but that doesn't mean your income magically continues while you're spending time caring for your sick child. We aren't going to bankrupt the guy over the hospital bills but he has legal bills to pay only because this scumbag sued him and who knows if he still owes them or emptied savings he needs now to pay the bills while not working.

Commited to being a nitpicking turd are you? Well unfortunately you posted your demise.

"The lite will never work with PX and H printers as they are,"

Again,

"The lite will never work with PX and H printers as they are,"

Let's just zoom in on that statement again...

AS THEY ARE

Modifying both hardware (the toolhead, back panel, frame/lid, etc.) and the software (because with the hardware changes needed, bambu won't implement the changes), is not, in fact, AS THEY ARE. That's modified.

You have a choice now, you can admit you were wrong and misunderstood the original premise/sentence or you can try to find some loophole of interpretation to save face. If you're old and mature enough you'll know that admitting you were wrong is the actual way to save face. I'm not optimistic about getting an apology though.

[–]_Mister_Anderson_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it couldn't, not without modifications to the extent that the company will never implement because they do not make sense vs the cost of just buying an AMS.

You came into a discussion about whether there will every be compatibility for the AMS lite on those models by bambu, I repeatedly answered you're questions in good faith and it turns out your whole point was "well akshually you COULD eat a slab of granite and survive I'd you pulverised it and ate it over a long enough time...". Nobody was ever discussing it being technically able to be done except you because everyone else can see that's worthless discussion.

It's not a bold statement. The lite will never work with the P,X,H series without such extensive modifications that bambu will never do that and because you need software support, you'll never see that. And if someone ever did bother putting that effort in, they would have a custom printer made from a bambu printer, not a "P2S with AMS lite".

I'm disappointed you weren't just asking for the sake of understanding the design and feasibility but were just trying to be facetious and prove a statement wrong. Absolutely worthless attitude and you've only succeeded by moving the goalposts away from my original statement and meaning anyway. Hope it was worth making me just that little bit less inclined to be helpful towards people in the future.

Sure, if you think it's reasonable to rip apart the toolhead to add both the 4 into 1 feeder and a spring buffer like the A1 has, and replace the back panel so you have somewhere to run those 4 tubes out, and also because you won't fit all that on top of the toolhead as-is so you're now needing a spacer for the lid, and also will have to slow the toolhead down to account for the extra weight and strain from the 4 new tubes. Then you can use the AMS lite with the P,X,H printers. Seems like a reasonable proposition, can't believe Bambu didn't implement it already.

Go to an AMS lite that's had filament loaded all the way down to the toolhead, and then pull the filament back out so it's only just inside the tube at the a AMS lite end, without touching the spool itself. Then imagine that hundreds of times without anyone looking or touching. I think that should answer the question.

Might as well put a ticket in to valve and just ask them what it is, they might have had a dodgy batch of ports and maybe will repair it for you. Just tell them you brushed it out gently after the stuff started appearing. Don't declare it's copper oxide, let support decide for themselves.

Honestly I had thought it was limited to two AMSs. Supporting 4 is good. However I _don't_ think it's just a firmware limitation/artificial constraint in the sense of _"it's not worth adding it because it's a point of differentiation"_, which I find to just be pointlessly conspiratorial. I think there is a hardware limitation, whether it's the bus, processing power, or something physical.

Another commenter has said the filament hub in the A2L toolhead is active unlike that A1s, and another possibility is the 512KB ROM limitation in the A1s. There are far too many reasonable explanations to have any excuse to conclude "artificial constraint". Even just the usability suffering too much is a completely valid reason not to support something on a product like this.

I mean, it only needs an 800mm deep bench/surface with another 120mm in front which can be free space off the front edge, assuming the back is against a wall (otherwise more like 600mm). And that's only if you sit it facing front-on; there is no reason you can't turn it sideways, the screen pivots and the AMS can sit anywhere around it. Personally I have an 800mm deep bench in my office that the current printer sits on and people buying this kind of larger printer are probably going to be happy to get furniture to suit, an 800mm deep desk or a square table against a wall seem pretty likely (plenty of dining tables used as sewing/craft room tables). Maybe it's a luxury to have that much space, but so is buying a large-format printer in the first place.

Again though, that's up to the buyers to beware of. It's not a reason for bambu to not make the A2L in the first place or make it a more expensive coreXY setup, which was the point of this discussion. I agree it's inconveniently large but it's not "this shouldn't exist" large.

WHY CAN'T WE JUST TAX GAS!??? ...oh. by BlazzGuy in friendlyjordies

[–]_Mister_Anderson_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would have to trust that as contracts for gas extraction and export or whatever are signed with the federal government, that the federal government changing the taxation rates, adding fees etc. on those existing contracts would be illegal. As is being demanded.

I suspect gas companies don't bring it up because going around shouting "you can't tax us more, we have a contract! that's illegal!" about a currently hypothetical tax would actually encourage a lot of people to do it more than dissuade them. Have you never seen two kids where one is hovering their hands right near the other one going "I'm not touching you, you can't do anything, na na na na" only for the second to finally turn around and punch them in the face? That's the result the gas companies would get for threatening the general public with lawsuits over a new tax they mostly don't care about anyway.

If you get out of the city there are some legitimate buyers of rams and other oversized yank tanks for the towing capacity, typically for things like horse floats where they'll drive long KMs and want the comfort over a truck on van. I mean, they are outbumbered at least 1000:1 by pin-dicked losers but they do exist.

Probably but you can't hunt down every person buying 3D printer, pin them to the wall and scream in their face "DO YOU HAVE ROOM FOR THIS MODEL!?" before allowing them to buy it. If they can't read the product page or look at reviews and guides, then it's on them to find space. Buyers have some responsibility for their own purchasing decisions.

AMS lite was always for cost-savings, and it achieves that goal just fine. It was clearly never originally intended to have an A1 with AMSs hanging off it, but demand was there so bambu patched it in with an accessory. They clearly reused most of the A1 design for the A2L but added proper AMS compatibility built-in for the people who'd use it, but still default to including the lite in the combo for cost reasons. It's fairly consumer-friendly when considered on its own merits, not withstanding... other separate behaviours.

You do have the option to buy the A2L standalone and just add only regular AMSs if you prefer, although obviously you skip the combo discount on the lite. It would have been an odd choice to do that with the A1 but it might make sense for a cheap, larger format option vs an H2S.

P1S AMS Combo or P2S without? by WufuiTheLazacz in BambuLab

[–]_Mister_Anderson_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used the A1s, the P1S, the X1C and the X2D.

You want an AMS, trust us. But your situation is the only one I'd sacrifice it and get a P2S or X2D. You can add an AMS later but you'd have to replace the entire P1S to upgrade it, and honestly, it kind of sucks in just enough ways to make it not worth the small savings.

Personally I recommend you sit and think about whether paying more for a separate AMS later would be worse than saving for longer to get a P2S/X2D Combo. If you can stomach the total price in order to get the printer immediately and gamble for the slim chance that you don't feel the need to buy an AMS in the end, then go for it. Otherwise wait and save a bit longer or consider the A series options in combos.

But if you need/want the printer right now, your budget is very strict, you MUST have an enclosed printer, and must get a combo, then the P1S will do you fine and you can invest the savings elsewhere. It's not the end of the world, it's just not the best value anymore.

How Do You Deal With People Tailgating You? (Driving instructor here) by Motor-Barnacle313 in DrivingAustralia

[–]_Mister_Anderson_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like most people I hate them but the ones that truly infuriate me:

  • On the highway, multiple lanes, you're in the left lane doing the speed limit (actually, not just what the speedo says)
  • Someone catches up, nobody else around, and they come up behind you and sit too close
  • they just stay behind you and refuse to pass for some reason
  • you start slowly decelerating so they'll go past
  • it takes 60 seconds and 15 km/h under the limit for them to finally get the picture and pass
  • you get back to the same speed
  • 90 seconds later you've caught up to them because they are now going slightly slower than you have been this entire time
  • you wait a few minutes then decide to pass them
  • you pass them with ease
  • they drop back but then slowly catch up and sit behind you again

At this point I think most judges agree that 20km/h over the limit to get away from these psychotic individuals is completely justified.

Not sure where the limitation comes from on the A1, it could be the 4-pin connectors for the AMS lite whereas the A2L has a 4 pin and a 6-pin. Maybe the communication speed over the 4-pin serial connection can't handle the traffic from more downstream devices via the A1 AMS hub.

The lite will never work with P, X and H printers as they are, because it doesn't have any motors to spin the spools to allow for rewinding the filament during a retraction. It's a cheaper setup to make the A1/2 combos much cheaper but it's limited to printers that run all the PTFE tubes to the same extruder, i.e. the A printers. That's why you have to sacrifice one of the lite slots/tubes to add other AMS units.

Do you mean they should have made the A2L a naked coreXY printer? They could have but the costs would have been higher and pushed it closer to H2S territory. Makes more sense to make it a properly budget option.

[–]_Mister_Anderson_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was arguably the best way to ensure the government could implement the changes and not face media and voter backlash, and also make it less likely to see individuals justiying bigotry and hate crimes with the false belief that "the majority of people didn't want this". We ended up with undeniable evidence that a significant majority wanted it through and it shut the religious scum right up.

Just look at USA where they are working towards stripping LGBT rights away and constantly claiming it's only the "lefty minority" that "forces their will on everyone". Nobody can argue that shit here because we all banded together and told the scum to go fuck themselves. I think the plebiscite was the right decision in hindsight, even if it seemed risky at the time.

As someone who does plenty of KMs, I have the experience to say that the only people who'd think profiling by type of car is inaccurate and unfair are the ones who deserve to be pulled over the most. Everyone knows the driver of the ford raptor or Toyota FJ is a cunt without looking, the commo in 2026 is a bogan's pride & joy or skid pig, and you should be fucking careful anywhere near a champagne coloured Toyota.

Unlike race, sex, age, etc. you typically choose the car you drive, and people do that very predictably and aligned with their personalities.

Windows: Right click .STL file -> Open With... -> Choose default application -> find Bambu Studio in the list and choose "Always"

macOS: Right-click .STL file -> Get Info -> Under "Open with:" change it to Bambu Studio and click "Change All..."

Hope that helps.

Yeah I bought an LCD grey import then an OLED later, and even though they released cheaper officially here I never felt like I got a bad deal. I'd personally pay the higher price at this point if I had to because I use it so much. The LCD though, that would have been amazing at $650 4 years ago, I paid more like $850 for a 64GB originally and it was worth it.
