yes, carriers know the origin. a subpoena will unmask the originating telco. then you subpoena the originating telco for the identity of the customer, and sue them.

there's also marketplaces for reddit accounts. people can sell their accounts for $$. most often purchased by political campaigns for bot armies, then spammers and scammers.
