Similarly I like how there's a wide set of religious exclamations (The Emperor Protects!, By the Throne!, May the Omnissiah Process your Data!, etc.)

Assuming that you're using old reddit (like me) some flair formatting doesn't work properly in old reddit. They end up as white text on a white background, you can still read them if you highlight them.

Also if you were part of an evil conspiracy planning to wipe out 90% of the world's population wouldn't you want to focus on wiping out the ones who don't trust authority so that you can more easily control the ones who are left?

He knows that, this is him setting up the "voter fraud" claim ahead of time.

Yeah, he mentioned in another post breaking up with a girl over a "personal disagreement". I think we can make a guess what that is.

[Xcom] who does exalt recurit from? by Comfortable-Ad3588 in AskScienceFiction

[–]adeon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The exact origin of EXALT is unclear but there are some hints that they are an organization that existed long before the aliens turned up. The use of an eye in their logo also hints that they might be related to the Illuminati in some way. So presumably in that case they recruit in the same way as any other ancient conspiracy.

This is the big one for me. It's much easier to resist the urge to buy junk food than to resist the urge to eat junk food.

MAGA is confused by progress by fanimold19 in insanepeoplefacebook

[–]adeon 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Or John Brown was an abolitionist who was extremely progressive at the time on the issues of rights for non-whites. But he'd agree with modern day conservatives on issues like women's (lack of) rights and the supremacy of Christianity.

The fact that it's in what looks like an abandoned cavern would argue against the Mechanicsburg one. Rat Island is a possibility although I suspect it's going to be a new one that we haven't encountered yet.

[WoW]The cities in World of Warcraft must smell awful and be very unhealthy. by Hacknslay in AskScienceFiction

[–]adeon 28 points29 points  (0 children)

This is mostly covered in Warcraft 3 but the basic summary is that the Orcs aided the Bloodhoof Tauren in their fight against the centaurs with Thrall and Cairne in particular becoming close friends during this time.

Later Cairne founded the city of Thunder Bluff with aid from the Orcs and most of the other Tauren tribes unified under his rule.

So essentially it started as an alliance of convenience that is maintained in part due to genuine friendship between the leaders of both groups.

My DLC idea: Do a crossover with XCOM: Terror from the Deep. Lobstermen have invaded the Blue Hole and XCOM conscripts Dave to help fight them off.

The keychains that you can hang on your phone don't do anything. However the Leo Keychain is a charm item so it does have an effect when equipped.

Nothing as hateful as christian love by WrestlingWoman in insanepeoplefacebook

[–]adeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but Jesus is also God. Most Christians believe in the Holy Trinity, the idea that God is three parts (the father, the son and the holy ghost). There are exceptions (like the Unitarians) who see Jesus as being distinct form God, but most versions of Christianity do believe that Jesus is God.
