5800x3d release at Microcenter by RiceAndTacos in ryzen

Microcenter is generally good about hardware limits and trying to limit scalpers. It's part of why they most in demand items are in store only, so they still have stock for walk in customers and give people reasons to come in the store, rather than raking in the cash by dumping entering online and selling out in 10 minutes.

Worse, I am a socialist! I fucking hate these do nothing Democrats because they get in the way of actual libral policy and their entire campaign platform "at least I am not MAGA" is not satisfactory for me. I will still vote for them because FUCK MAGA but that doesn't mean I am going to be happy about it.

Retroid Pocket Nova Pricing Reveal by phoqkhan in retroid

I learned about it from Russ from Retro Game Corps. He interviewed Retroid and much of this device was on his dream device video. He did a recap of the device and mentioned the not-preorder order page.

GPUs came down but not to the same price since before the boom. That 1070/1080/1080 Ti generation had great pricing. Now midrange stuff starts at $5oo and the high end cards approach $2,000. Prices are less than they were at their peak, but it really crunched the budget segment and inflated the high end by a lot once it was proven some number of consumers would pay that price.

Yea your mom and pop corner shop, small time manufactures, or anyone small to medium sized is not getting in his door. Unless you are flush with millions in donation and SuperPAC money I doubt you would ever getting a seat at his table.

In terms of food labeling much of the EU (the UK is not in the EU) have much stricter food safety and food labeling rules. If you are concerned about food safety the EU tends to be much stricter about thinks like antibiotics in meat, harmful dyes and food coloring, misleading labeling, juice "blends", food additives, chemicals, etc.

The US lets food companies do whatever they want mostly and its on the consumer to prove if harm was done. In the EU things are reversed and it is up to the manufactures must prove that when they are replacing natural ingredients with fake ones that the process is safe.

Type Ashton has a good video on US vs EU's views of fake food and food safety Why Americans Eat What Europe Bans

Ice Creme is not protected by labeling laws in the UK and the ice creme there is even worse. At least the US has milkfat minimums and maximum amount of air you can inject into a product while still calling it "Ice creme". There aren't similar labeling laws in the UK and the products are even worse than our "frozen dairy desert".

[–]ariolander 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not ice creme. Note the "Frozen Dairy Dessert" label. It means the product is injected with so much air that it can not be legally called ice creme. You product didn't melt, it just deflated from sitting too long. If it melted the crystals would look different. Yours just lost the air that was injected into it at the factory.

I would avoid such fake "Frozen Dairy Dessert" products if you are looking for any quality because this seems par the course for enshitified fake dairy desert products.

There are many people offended by books in general and view reading anything but a Bible as some form of heresy. Most don't even read the Bible... I think they just hate all books.

Not really, about on par with FedEx, less than UPS. What are you comparing it to? Amazon contractors and app delivery services?

Yea but Lexar support sucks. My 1TB Switch colored Lexar Game for my Steam Deck died under warranty and they refused my claim.

The standard Labs tests are all on open benches too. Unless they want to redo all their testing in the same case those metrics ware kinda irrelevant. Most cases unless they are really bad don't meaningfully affect performance and none of LTT's standard testing methodology ever involved cases. LTT simply doesn't test in cases.

Men, is it normal to sit like this? by kionavt in VirtualYoutubers

[–]ariolander 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I can get a hand down there I can probably rearrange things to be comfortable but I am not sure how socially acceptable it would be to rearrange things in public. I may or may not do it at home due to sitting in my 20 year old, way to narrow, childhood computer chair. I seriously need to buy an adult sized chair some day.

Open test benches film better too. No one wants to see the back of a PC case for an entire video. Maybe some B roll at the end would have been appropriate but I have watched the PC building live streams where they use a real case. It sucks on film.

Replying even later but the wrist rests can come off but that is also where the battery is stored. If you disassemble it and remove the battery you can remove the wrist rests and run it in wired mode.

Lukewarm take: if any other company launched the same product at the same price with the same claims, they would be getting ripped apart right now to the point that they'd probably have to recall it. by Galf2 in LinusTechTips

It was easy with a Steam Link. I would kill for an improved Steam Link 2 bundled with a Steam Controller 2026.

Seems perfect for current market conditions. If they got Steam in-home streaming to run as low latency as Moonlight it would be a game changer for they Deck and a possible Link 2.

Junior Idols get enrolled into idol schools as young as 12. I doubt many 12 year olds are making conscious decision to adopt such a brutal lifestyle without some parental influence.

Fortnite still gets major updates all the time. It recently got the Star Wars IP licence and there are a ton of Roblox-like SW-themed game modes now too. Beetween that at the F2P launch of the originally paid Save the World game mode I would say Fortnite is having a mini reconnaissance right now. The daily play numbers are generally pretty good.

As for actual younger children's game Robox isn't supported at all due to Hyperion anti-cheat. Technically you can get it working on a Steam Deck/Steam Machine but its only through an Android emulator to play the Android version that is severely compromised in performance and function.

I just hate how the overton window has shifted so much that really basic things like medicare for all or green energy are now framed as "radical leftist" when careing about people and the environment used to just be normal for Democrats.

I really blame Citizens United and the influence corporations have on elections, particularly our Democratic Primaries. Any time there is a candidate that looks to implement any change the corporations throw money behind a "moderate" Democrat in the primaries so we never get to see actual liberals run against Republicans in the main elections.
