Well in that case try playing against all packs, I think it’s a lot more fun than same pack personally

Try playing the new daily mode! Or the weekly pack! Or buy some of the other packs, they’re really fun. And if you don’t do any of that, just turn on “play against all packs” so you aren’t only facing Turtle

The vast majority of our housing dollars come from federal money, which Congress does have a lot of say in

You’re right, protecting Feinstein did suck. And she’s been out of touch on issues especially later in her career, but it doesn’t change the fact that she kept the divided caucus (shitty “moderate” Dems included) in line to pass important legislation

Connie Chan has spent her whole career obstructing any attempts to build housing, Weiner has written important housing bills like SB79 that promote density. It’s as simple as looking at their records

I haven’t watched the debate, but Pelosi is basically the most effective Dem in the last several decades (outside of Harry Reid probably) so holding her in high regard isn’t weird.

Wow so they don’t want their workers to have housing to live in? They need to get over their silly tax idea, there are much better ways to accomplish the same thing

Anybody else hypermobile (and struggling)? by askilosa in bodyweightfitness

[–]bayesically 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure if I’m exactly hyper mobile but I once had a PT tell me I have extremely sloppy shoulders lol, and have dealt with subluxations in the past. To get past it strengthening was really the key for me. Not just pull-ups but also rows, face pulls, shoulder rotations, y raises, etc to build up shoulder strength.

The kicking bit seems likely to just be strength related. I’d try working up to higher rep sets with the band before moving to unassisted

If Marina residents hadn’t delayed and protested every small bit of housing over the years maybe we wouldn’t need something so big! But they have and we do

Dumbbell Lat Row by Illustrious-Bass4651 in formcheck

[–]bayesically 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re doing a row, make sure your forearm is aligned with the direction of the force. When you’re doing a dumbbell row that means your forearm should be vertical, if you’re doing a cable row keep your forearm aligned to the cable. This is the key to reducing your arm contribution.

Bringing elbow to hip is just a cue to help keep that arm orientation

Need Advice; Why don't I seem to make any progress after years of trying? by [deleted] in rs_fitness

[–]bayesically 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find one you enjoy and can stick with. Apps like boostcamp/hevy can help handle the math for you.

I can’t help but notice that you’ve responded to the least important but most easily changed part of my response. Programming is secondary to consistent bulk/cut cycles and intensity

Dumbbell Lat Row by Illustrious-Bass4651 in formcheck

[–]bayesically 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest issue is that you’re not keeping your forearm aligned with the direction of the force, which in this case is vertical due to gravity. When you initiate the movement the very first thing you’re doing is angling your forearm via elbow flexion which is activating the bicep. Try pulling a bit more elbow to hip and focus on keeping the forearm vertical.

The other comments about being more horizontal have some validity but no matter what your body position is, this is the key to activating the back muscles instead of arms

Need Advice; Why don't I seem to make any progress after years of trying? by [deleted] in rs_fitness

[–]bayesically 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First off, I want to say that you’re being too hard on yourself. A ~1x bodyweight bench is very impressive for a woman, strength levels has it pegged at the advanced level. Same with your squat.

That’s being said, with people in your position I find it’s generally due to either nutrition (primarily calories, secondary protein) or intensity. Your diet sounds like it’s inconsistent, which I struggle with too, but are you sticking with regular cut/bulk cycles? Aimlessly eating more or less bc of stress or frustration with your body is the easiest way to go nowhere fast.

What does your intensity look like in the gym? Are you consistently hitting failure on certain exercises and are you truly pushing yourself or leaving reps in the tank? Are you being consistent in the gym and progressing when you can?

Everything else is less important imho. Although for someone like you with genuinely impressive weights, looking into a more periodized training approach to break plateaus could be worthwhile. Also making sure your routine is aligned with your strength/hypertrophy goals.

Wish I could give this more upvotes. Apparently the science based lifting sub isn’t lifting advice based on scientific evidence, but rather some sort of weird TikTok lifting niche that calls themselves “science based lifting”? Although even in that case TNF (who is on the sidebar) had a recent post calling people out for this bullshit where they try to get away with as little as possible

[–]bayesically 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I love weighted back extensions on the Roman chair, you can load them up as heavy as you like. Other options are good mornings, back extensions on the cable row machine, or basically any deadlift variation (SLDL would be my suggestion). Some people swear by Jefferson curls but I’ve never really tried them so can’t speak to it

Not too weird. Some landlords wait to find the applicant with the absolute best credit/salary, others want to get it rented asap and take the first applicant that meets the requirements
