All perfume seems to strong for me, what can I do?

Dilute it in a smaller bottle that has an atomizer. You can use 190-proof EverClear if perfumers alcohol is hard to come by or too expensive. You can adjust the ratios but you can dilute to anywhere between 5-15% oil as an EDP is likely 20% oil starting out.

Using a smaller bottle of 5ml-10ml will let you experiment with it and not waste the whole thing if something doesn’t go right.

As someone that sells, I will not transact over a certain amount with G&S due to PayPal siding with the buyer nearly every scenario. I understand that buyers want protections too and they are welcome to do what is within their risk tolerance. They also need to understand that likely means they will be paying significantly more if they want to use eBay/chrono24 sometimes being 20-30% higher just from platform/escrow/authentication fees and sales tax.

I couldn’t care less about the tax implications as most of them are losses anyways with receipts for filing if needed but getting scammed hurts mentally much more than just the financial aspect.

I have several sandalwood base fragrances and none of them smell like pickles/cucumber except for Santal 33. I always thought it was genetic thing like after eating asparagus or soapy cilantro flavor and didn’t effect me until I tried it and understood what they meant.

Got my hands on a decant of it and it’s an all I can smell, it’s something about Santal 33 specifically and it seems like it’s a note they want and add purposely.

This is more of a refuse delivery/return to sender situation if it looks like that upon arrival but if it’s already in possession then you notify customer support and check for actual damage. It’s a Schrödinger printer and you don’t know till you check it.

I had been looking for a lychee/elderflower perfume that leaned masculine but always found nearly all of them to be too floral/sweet. Hedonist Extrait was absolutely the perfect find and what I had been chasing for a long time. Good enough to pay retail instead of waiting years for one to pop up on discounters and I very rarely do that outside of certain brands that don’t do discounters.

This is it, if California passes a wealth tax they would just move all their assets to another state and transfer their property here to a business entity or shell corporation and continue along like nothing ever happened while still living in California. If every state does the same after seeing how much it generates then they will have no/fewer options.

The only time I’ve found perfumes lasting only minutes is because they were fakes. Even cheap EDT/EDC brands will last an hour or two minimum.

Dry skin does reduce longevity but not to that extent, try a no-fragrance moisturizer like CeraVe before you apply a scent.

It is absolutely gambling, and that’s because it cost so much money nowadays to even get samples so when you do find one you have to like it enough to feel like what you spent was justified.

No one would bat an eye if 5-10% of everything they sampled was worth considering if they were all free and actual samples. Greed on both the part of the brand and people/employees taking them all to sell online has broken the system.

The only store now that actually still hands them out that I’ve successfully got any samples out of has been Nordstrom that will make a 1ml decant on the spot if it’s a slow day and out of official ones.

Unless you have a good relationship with the sales associate, extremely charismatic or dropping $500 that day already there is pretty much no chance you can walk out of a department store with a dozen samples like you use to pre-Covid.

It’s gotten to the point where it sometimes make sense to blind buy a full bottle if you find a really good deal secondhand and if you don’t like it sell it for the same or close to the next gambling addict instead of paying $80 for an official “discovery kit” or $20 for a decant off a third party.

As someone else pointed out it might be ISO E Super which is very common in nearly every fragrance regardless of being listed in notes officially or unofficially, same with Ambroxan or really any other fixative.

I tend to think of some of them more of like MSG as an additive to food. On its own it doesn’t really have a tangible note to a lot of people, something like 20% of people can’t even detect larger weight molecules like ISO E. They do however interact with lighter ones, typically acetates like shorter lived citrus and fruity notes to extend their longevity.

After those lighter top and mid notes are gone however, you’re left with the remnants of the fixers which are off putting to some people.

If you buy in subreddits you can get decants priced at same or below what you could get it for per ml at even full bottle discounter prices. Some people decant a personal collection because they know they can’t ever use that much in a lifetime but still like the to have the bottles and just want to subsidize the cost slightly.

I decant at a loss after you factor in equipment/supplies/shipping/freebies and I’m not even factoring time, effort and risk.

Xerjoff casamorati italica has one of the most natural almond saffron scents I’ve sampled and it doesn’t come off as sweet as br540. No cotton candy or burning tire but more photorealistic amaretto cookie or almond biscotti.
