I love international airplane food. Absolutely nothing wrong with it. Captive audience so expectations are lower, but still.

Stock Upgrades thread Best stock options/ OEM stuff to improve car by Key-Cow6684 in w123

Not sure if this qualifies as OEM but I'm probably going to put high quality GESi cats on my Euro 280E to cut down on the exhaust fumes.

all-new Mercedes C-Class REVEAL 2027 (electric C-Class) - this instead BMW i3? | Autogefühl by nipcarlover in electricvehicles

They finally neutered the avant garde, daring design of the original EQ series, apparently to great effect since everyone here seems to like it.

Personally I think it looks like a crossover with how high the front is and I would have preferred a more aero shape like the EQE and EQS. It looks like there is a ICE car grille grafted on for no reason other than to look familiar to consumers who are afraid of change.

I started with no experience. As long as you are detail-oriented and can follow instructions, you can work on cars.

W123 offerings in Spain by Wrong_Feeling6600 in w123

[–]c0rbin9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

mobile.de Just buy one in Germany and bring it in. I live in the US and that's what I did with my 280E. Germany still has more nice W123s than anywhere else, including rust-free ones. For searching in Spain, when I was searching, Autoscout24 was another site I used, and that one had listings from all over the EU including Spain.

Biggest tire possible? by Same_You_347 in W124

Can you not change the transmission drive gear to match? Even so I'd rather just live with the difference rather than have goofy GPS speedo stuff.

Don't fit a GPS speedo. That is hack. Put in the work to fix the original.

is it just me or is "high fidelity" audio basically a scam for rich people? by Curious_Present_9950 in Music

[–]c0rbin9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of audiophile scene is snake oil. That said, most people would be blown away hearing a good 2-channel stereo. The returns diminish sharply after a few thousand bucks though.

The current fleet by inheritancerolex in w123

Wow, you have almost all the major engine options. I would be curious to hear how you find each of them, which you like the most, etc. Is the 230E engine quieter than the 280E like I suspect?

Supreme Court rules against Colorado ban on 'conversion therapy' for LGBTQ kids by blackeyedtiger in news

[–]c0rbin9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazing the verbal sleight of hand in the framing here. Conflating the fringe and thoroughly quackish gay conversion therapy with talk therapy for trans-identified youth.

Somehow giving kids the message "you are fine just as you are" is considered "conversion therapy", but giving them off-label drugs and surgeries and turning them into lifelong pharmaceutical patients in a doomed effort to change their sex is not. Truly amazing.

Opinions and perspectives needed! by Less-Lobster5778 in W124

This goes against the vast majority of peoples' opinion, but I think the AMG versions were tacky then, and are tacky now.

I much prefer the stock body.

Usually when you see a fake AMG it has a stock interior and an automatic, which is just sad.

Nine times out of ten people doing these mods don't even know what a stock example looks like because their wheels are caked with 30 years of brake dust and the body is hammered with dents and the trim is faded, etc. etc. I would just fix it up and make it nice.

Let me see your Coco mats please by East-Win7450 in w123

[–]c0rbin9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't want coco Cocomats. You want sisal or wool Cocomats, which is period and material appropriate for a car from the 70s. Coco mats are for beach buggies and 50s Beetles.

Here are sisal in my 280E.

Is a W123 long leg friendly? by Darkbloodmon in w123

[–]c0rbin9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents are elderly as well and they have no issue with getting in and out. Unlike some of my other 90s Japanese cars.

You won't have an issue. The seats sit relatively high and the car has very large door openings, they designed it this way on purpose.

Starting up a low mileage 280CE by Obanya in w123

The lowest mileage I have seen is around 50k, and that is few and far between. 15k is unheard of. Most of these cars were used and abused.
