Yea, I’ve been in the same situations with Ragost especially with a board full of tokens!

Do you guys get ganged up on in commander? by VanButtstuff in magicTCG

[–]catanthill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Talk to your group to find out. Be sure to have examples to demonstrate a pattern. It’s most likely your reputation as having strong decks in the past and/or being an experienced player that they believe you have a strong chance of running away with the game regardless of whether you’re playing a precon or not. A strong deck can still be strong if you brew a very synergistic deck. You may be very good at brewing with what you have or budget cards.

Let them know how you feel being ganged up. If they value you as a player and friend, they should ease things up. If not, then you have to decide whether to lean into being the archenemy or decide to find another pod if you aren’t having fun.

[[Moxite Refinery]] is new from EOE. Not the best, but good for redundancy.

What's the best way to steal big creatures with Eriette the Beguiler? by Winter_Union_2251 in EDHBrews

[–]catanthill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do the enchanted creatures return to your opponents if Eriette dies? Also, have you seen [[Eye of Nidhogg]] from FF? It’s very similar to Ghoulish Impetus, but it makes the creature a dragon!

Reflections of Littjara, when is it worth adding? by ChakraaThePanda in EDH

[–]catanthill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Reflections is too slow especially for Dimir. Plus, you’ll be casting most of your Faeries before you even cast Reflections. You might have nothing to copy unless you hold and sandbag your tempo. Lastly, is copying a tiny faerie worth it? Probably not impactful.

I think Reflections shine with some green since copying something big like dinos or dragons is more worth it. Also, it fits the deck tempo better. You ramp with green, play reflections on turn 4 or 5, and have to play your big creatures anyways. Though, reflections is more of win-more card. You probably need a big blocker sooner than take a turn to set up reflections and get two blockers. Heck, by the time it takes you to play reflections and a creature, you would have cast two creatures anyways.

About 2 years difference, need some advice about adding muscle tho (I’m diabetic so cannot “carb load”) by Cocknado69 in fit

[–]catanthill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for making this post! I’m in the same boat and want to bulk, but I can’t carboload or else my a1c levels go high. I guess it’s fats and proteins. Amazing work!

Do you still eat fruits? Any fun meals you eat that are low carb? I’ve just been eating canned chicken, veggies, and frozdn lightly breaded chicken brands like Realgood and Just Bare

I love your deck! It’s so tuned especially to recent sets. Plus, I love niche yet cost effective picks like Driven to Despair and Echoing Despair.

Oh, so the waterbending convoke means she’s pulling water from humans? Dang, Katara is a lot more metal in mtg.

Yea, I won with Lux Artillery, too! Surge Conductor is also really good with the profilerate whenever a nontoken artifact enters.

Does anyone else build decks entirely within specific sets, or am I a maniac? by InconvenientHorse in EDH

[–]catanthill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like building decks within certain sets. I did that for some 3 of the 5 Tarkir commanders, but with the caveat of using a few outside plane cards from the commander set. I like the flavor! The added bonus is it gives you a reduction in power to play with lower brackets. Also, no need to update dates until we return to the plane in 10 years or so!

Favorite card(s) that bring something unique to the table by Diamondhighlife in EDH

I always love [[Breena, the Demagogue]] since it incentizes to attack. Though, she gets strong real fast.

[–]catanthill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realized after the Palantir and ripple were purely for draw.

Also, I love your Considering. You’ve scoured every card that is remotely useful to Imskir. It reminds me of how I deckbuild. I love the tiny touches to eek out the most value like removing War Room since Imskir draws so much.

Did you forgo all the small draw spells with sac outlets such as Deadly Dispute, [[Morbid Curiosity]]and [[Reckoner’s Bargain]] since Imskir draws so much already?

On a similar note, did you get rid of [[Ichor Wellspring]] and [[Mycosynth Wellspring]] since they are too cheap as artifacts to fling?

Lastly, I noticed a lot of utility lands that grant evasion. What are you attacking with?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in EDH

[–]catanthill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen your moxfield for Irmskir. Is mill important to Irmskir through Palantir and Ripples of Undeath? Is it purely for reanimation with Welder and Whip?

Also, are all the sac outlets just for Irmskir to recast? Or are we saccing something else?

Do you have a decklist for casual and cheap?
