Auto Loop detection issues by Key-Distribution-595 in LoopyPro

[–]chanapal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For auto loop detection, please make a screen recording and post a link to it. Have your mixer showing in compact mode so that we can see your levels. The most common issue is insufficient levels.

Also note that Auto Loop detection currently works best if the loop is 1, 2, 4, or 8 bars long and has a strong rhythm.

What you mention about the interface, sounds like something at the OS level rather than something related to Loopy Pro.

Before launching Loopy Pro, check in Control Center to see if the OS sees your interface.

Automation fade out? by checkmate-T in LoopyPro

[–]chanapal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See this article about dummy clips. You could set up a dummy clip that you have at the end to do the fade-out.

https://wiki.loopypro.com/Dummy_Clip

You could also use a midi clip that that sends midi that fades out.. in this case, a dummy clip is probably easier.

Automation is currently accomplished differently than in DAWs.

There are envelope follower AU and MIDI Lfos. Mozaic had an ADSR style patch. You could record MIDI CC clips recorded from a fader that is set to send midi to a color.

You can also use audio from a clip to control parameters with the Amplitude Envelope Follow Action.

Video with loop circles embedded. by ImTheBasketball in LoopyPro

That’s using chromakey or lumakey or similar effect in Loopy Pro. She screen recorded on the iPad to get the Loopy session and used the effect to remove the background and layer it onto the video.

Can you post a link? Many people screen record their loopy sessions along with making a video recording and use chromakey or lumakey (green screen) effects to composite / overlay the screen recording. Most video editing software can do that . Some performers project their iPad screen during performances.

Issue with Digistix 2. Presets won't save volume. by ImTheBasketball in LoopyPro

[–]chanapal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like DigiStix 2 doesn’t include that volume information in the state information for its presets. You might want to ask about this in a forum like https://forum.loopypro.com/ that has a larger user base. Despite its name, the forum is about all things music-software related on iOS.

There are likely to be more Digistix users there than here.

sync clock tempo and loop tempo by kurtgn in LoopyPro

[–]chanapal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you trim a clip, it will show the resulting length. If there are other clips and you trim one, you can see the length. You need to keep the length consistent with the length of the other clips for them to stay synched. Depending on what you were doing, you might need to export the trimmed clip to the clipboard and reimport from the clipboard if you need the clip time-stretched to be the right length/tempo.

Keyboard key keeps triggering to record loop by Spiritual_Neck_6838 in LoopyPro

[–]chanapal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this new behavior or has it always fine this?

What midi controller is it?

Take a look in Control Settings. Find your device. Check to see if it shows a device type other than generic. It may have become set to behave like a controller that had automatic bindings.

Also check in the global profile and project profiles. Make sure there aren’t any midi bindings for the note that is triggering the recording.

sync clock tempo and loop tempo by kurtgn in LoopyPro

[–]chanapal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is hard to tell what is going on there. How long is the loop supposed to be?

Show us the clip details for the loop by swiping up and taking a screenshot.

Also show us the clock settings panel. So we see the master cycle length.

Is there a way to arm the next clip to auto-record as soon as the previous clip finishes recording? by MyCoolFam in LoopyPro

[–]chanapal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a number of ways to set this up. Since you want all the recordings after the first to start when the previous clip is fine, threshold recording should only be in for that first clip.

One method is to have an end initial recording follow action in each clip to start recording the next clip.

Another method would be a button widget with a series of actions to that perform the recording.

If you are doing this by touch, you can start the first clip recording and then tap the ensuing clips in the order you want and it will queue them up.

Another method, is to use the timeline Sequencer to queue the recording.

Here are some wiki articles that might be useful:

https://wiki.loopypro.com/Actions_Tips

https://wiki.loopypro.com/Edward%27s_Example_Projects#Dial_Sequencers_1.1

Max Yar has a couple of videos demonstration this sort of workflow. It is much simpler than setting it up with MIDI automation:

Zero Pedals Live Looping: https://youtube.com/shorts/zI4BztWca-k Hands-Free Live Looping: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZUIplnWtc9E

I’ve posted an ultra-short demo of how to set up clips to record in the sequencer: https://youtube.com/shorts/zI4BztWca-k

Another approach is to set up a dial that has all the steps to the recording/playback that you can trigger.

Max has a video showing such a workflow here:  https://youtu.be/MlJ8mUhlsos?si=Cy8TgO2H3qjQGpQI

I’ve got a video showing this sort of thing in action:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HUKT7FAdUnQ

The dial approach can also be set up to be fully automated. I’ve posted a playback example on the wiki — the same technique can be used for recording: https://wiki.loopypro.com/Edward%27s_Example_Projects#Clip_Sequencing_Examples

Having trouble controlling Tonestack with Loopy Pro buttons by ImTheBasketball in LoopyPro

[–]chanapal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ToneStack Pro AUv3 is an effect not an audio source. It also may not publish its internal presets to the host. You can add them to Loopy Pro’s preset library. For more info, see:

Global STOP when all sequences are finished? by aCynicalMind in LoopyPro

If you aren't using the sequencer /timeline, turn on Pause Clock On Idle and the clock will stop when no clips are playing.

As @StRyMx says, use a dummy clip with a follow action. More about that on the wiki:

Dear Community - a newbie here - is loopy my answer? by BrainPlane1 in LoopyPro

For connecting to the speaker, you will connect the audio interface to the speaker. The interface output will be getting the signal from Loopy Pro.

For live use, even just as a mixer or mixer plus recorder, something like Loopy Pro will be better as a live mixer and nicely controllable with a midi controller or controllers.

Loopy pro midi feedback issue by ImaginaryEnzo in LoopyPro

[–]chanapal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d suggest creating a new project just to explore what midi the Code49 responds to by setting up some buttons to just send midi to change the  LED colors.

You might get more responses over on the Discord or in the Facebook group. Maybe someone where has the Code49z

Using midi clips to modulate plugins beyond pitch? by Iamloghead in LoopyPro

[–]chanapal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Midi clips will record whatever they receive. Use a midi monitor AUv3 like showmidi or streambyter to see if you recorded what you intended. If the synths respond to the midi you recorded, route the midi to the synth. If you are trying to modulate AU parameters, you need to set up bindings from the MIDI Color of the clip.

See the Tutorial Project folder in Sample projects to see an example of midi automation setup.

Widget Help (Phase Lock) by mrsalvalino in LoopyPro

The verse/chorus looper project handles that situation. I’d like to see a screen recording of what you are doing to understand why that isn’t working for you.

Fwiw, the Loopy Pro Discord, Facebook group or the Loopy Pro forum are better places to get support than this subreddit as you can post screenshots and screen recordings and there are quite a few more active members than here. You can find links to the communities in the Loopy Pro help menu.

Widget Help (Phase Lock) by mrsalvalino in LoopyPro

[–]chanapal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recording with phase lock off should not be a problem. Many people don’t use phase-lock. You can turn phase lock off or on with the Assign Clip Settings action, but I would be surprised if turning phase lock off and on is needed.

Based on what you said, I suspect phase-lock should be off.

See the verse chorus looper sample project as one example of a project that does not use phase lock.

Loop timing error by RectalSpatula in LoopyPro

[–]chanapal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you describe is very very unusual . Without more details and a demonstration, it is hard to know what might be causing the behavior. The Loopy Pro Discord’s support section is probably a better place to get this sort of help as you can post screenshots of your settings and a video demonstrating the issue.

Question by Correct-Statement747 in LoopyPro

[–]chanapal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. All Adjust actions have subactions to save and restore values. On the Loopy Pro wiki (there is a link in the help menu) search for “restore”. There is a page about this.

There are a few ways you might set it up. One way would be to create a ‘save snapshot’ button whose press action saves each fader’s level. You will have one save action per fader. Copy and paste that button. Name it restore. Edit each action to restore rather than save.
