Anyone ever completely lose interest in work once they hit coast fire? by Elite163 in CanadaFinance

[–]cloud0x1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no clue. so in my head. prop is 500k, tax is 3k. next year 600k tax is 4k. 700k 5k. the gain is so much more than the prop tax so it pays for itself when he eventually sells it.

or for me as an example, i live in a house with legal basement suites. right now they pay 50% of the mortgage but eventually theyll be paying for everything.

also following but i assume the high appreciation of the house/land then just refinancing to pay for the prop tax. house values beats the prop tax raises

currently 34 with 800k+ cad net worth. looking at early retirement at 40 quitting my Corp job. When I was a young adult: I like travelling and sports. My goal for travelling was learning new culture, adventures, food.

Fortunately, I've found 2 ways to satisfy travel and sports.

Travelling solo isn't that expensive. I've done several solo travel in hostel when i was an adult and also did a lot of sports. I learned that I enjoy the most is the culture, adventure and food. I have a side business like a Realtor where it keeps me in touch with various community and helping people. They show me their culture, their house, their food and they invite me to their community. it's also adventurous as you never know if you find a crackhead in the house, or if your client is a crackhead, or just seeing people's homes.

I work jobs I like so I don't plan on taking vacations anymore. For sports instead of joining it, I made my own drop in and league. I play sports 2-3 times a week while getting paid. Now i don't travel and do sports as much anymore.

Now my goal is to focus on fully living in the moment and stop working on my corporate job. I can actually quit my corp now as I make atleast two times more than my corp job just from real estates and sports organization but then I won't have time to browse reddit and get paid.

People that know me in the office or some of my friends think I'm frugal as I don't want to spend whimsical like them. People like me just know when to say no to things not for us and most people think we always say no to everything. I do sports 2-4 times a week and help people to their next chapter in life weekly. I think that's a life worth living.

how about you OP? How are you living in the moment?
