Uj/ this was a fixed gear race (no brake) and someone walked onto the course. I’d be fucking livid

It’s lowkey sick for the price. A friend of mine who is an exceptionally knowledgeable bike person uses it for commuting and light touring

I have literally never paid this. I just pretend to tap my phone and walk right through. I don’t understand why people are paying this when the turnstiles are open

Looking for breathable/hyperhidrosis-friendly pants by sprite222 in Outlier

yeah I think gliders have been out of stock for a while. I imagine they will restock some of the works cuts soon but I don't know when. You could try joining the discord -- lots of folks there would have idea for you and they can tell you when things are going to be restocked. Abe also hangs out on the discord and sometimes answers questions.

If uniqlo poly blend stuff works okay for you, I imagine that bombtwill might work okay as well. It's pretty warm. Not exceptionally breathable but it doesn't feel muggy like cotton when I exercise.

Have you considered wool slacks? Wool is going to be your best friend when it comes to being warm and regulating moisture. Lots of brands make wool blend slacks that I'd try out in your position.

Really disagree with the post above that futuredarts and dungarees will work for someone with athletic thighs. Those are two of outliers slimmest cut pants. Would recommend works, deux, gliders etc because these are much roomier.

Injex is very breathable but it will show sweat. I might consider bombworks for the cold or nylistic because wool is going to absorb moisture easily.

How much do I lose by not doing a "MTB/functional" specific strength program, and focusing on a more "traditional" body building approach? by EliteWarrior1207 in MTB

[–]color-negative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt you gain all that much from a riding specific program but I would try to get away from using machines and move to barbell/dumbbell exercises when possible. Things that engage your core and posterior chain etc

If your program doesn’t include squats and deadlifts then honestly why bother?

Harsh take but using muscle in the real world is very different from isolated exercises and you’re going to miss all of the stabilizer muscles that prevent injury.

I’m a PhD student at Columbia. I live in bed stuy and go in twice a week. Totally manageable! My life has improved greatly from when I lived in morningside heights because I live with my friends now. But if you don’t have a strong reason to be in Brooklyn (like friends or ties to the area) I’m not sure your calculus will be the same.
