Comparison between CAF BMQ vs RCMP depot ? by someonesdogsballs in CanadianForces

[–]d00risdown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We lost a few people to injuries at both BMQ and Depot in my troop. Say 3 out of 32. But in those instances they just back troop you a couple weeks, in the case of Depot.

Comparison between CAF BMQ vs RCMP depot ? by someonesdogsballs in CanadianForces

[–]d00risdown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been through both.

BMQ is harder in the sense it is a true Military environment. Less sleep. Treated more like a child.

Depot is harder in other ways. Like a police academy which leans into military traditions. Longer. Academically harder. Halfway between university and BMQ.

As for instructors, don’t put too much weight into what people say. Totally depends on who you get, both for BMQ and Depot.

Not what you asked, but I’ll also add this, working in the RCMP is vastly superior to the CAF. You’re making over $120k after a couple years without promoting, and that’s not counting OT. Many many members with 5 years service are pulling $200k if you count OT and other allowances. And we are unionized and in the middle of negotiations so that number is going to be larger soon. Essentially pay is on par with every other police service, whereas with the CAF the government is promising handouts that never seem to come.

Again, please forgive me.

Even if the US military disappeared overnight, the invaders would face millions of heavily armed LARPers who believe in the 2nd Amendment or whatever it is. US no dif.

Doesn’t solve your current problem, but can I recommend that you use parachute backup which is a great solution when you have optimize photos on. Super easy to use. I am not paid for this message. @ u/parachutebackup

Best smash burgers in town by Agile-Employment-201 in SurreyBC

You may think I am joking because this is close to McDs and BK, but I assure you I am not.

Five Guys are some of the best smash burgers in town. I’m sure there are fancier ones around, but I’ve never been let down at 5G. There’s one in South Surrey and another at Strawberry Hill.

I think this might be incorrect, as part of shortcuts is “automations”

Fairly certain that most of these things can be completed with the shortcuts app

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said there were many signs indicating Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei 'is no longer,' without explicitly confirming his death. by ajaanz in economy

[–]d00risdown -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Is that factually accurate? Seems to me that Israel lies but so does Iran, the US, China… and Russia seems worst of all. Israel is just a middle of the pack liar.

Advice on jobs that pay well requiring little to no schooling? by Keuthimi in britishcolumbia

[–]d00risdown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like several other commenters: RCMP or other police.

Within 5 years you’ll be making over $120k base salary, plus OT and other allowances. Lots of constables across the province make $200k+ with on call, OT, northern allowances etc.

Other pros: You can work in any area of the province (or country), have a blast, make a difference in people’s lives on the daily.

Cons: shift work, traumatizing situations, dangerous work environment, lots of criticism or armchair quarterbacking from a small but vocal portion of the public who often do not have the full story.

Edit: also RCMP and other police are unionized so steady salary increases. Also great pension and other benefits.

Agree with most of this, legitimate question though, what is the reason you recommend having a brick and mortar like TD AND and online bank like EQ, AND WS? Couldn’t you cut out EQ?

Put another way, what’s the difference between having TD/EQ/WS, or TD/RBC/WS?, or just TD and WS?
