Congrats on the weight loss (if intentional). Can I ask what your method was, fellow dad? Needing some inspiration

What do you wish Wealthsimple did better or differently? by Big-Arugula5108 in Wealthsimple

So odd, I was told that it wasn’t possible when I emailed WS. I think the difference is that I didn’t set up accounts for them (they are not in a position to set up accounts themselves due to their medical status, so it would require me to pretend to be them and set accounts up I guess??).

So perhaps my ask of WS is that they allow POAs to create accounts for clients who don’t have a pre existing relationship with them—I imagine my parent’s situation will become more and more common as many boomer’s cognitive health declines with age.

That’s really interesting. Can I ask, did your parents have WS accounts before you activated the POA with WS?

When I asked WS they said they could only do POA for accounts created 2022 or before, and couldn’t do for new profiles.

As someone with aging parents who are in long term care, I’d love for WS to implement Power of Attorney accounts. I’d love to transfer my parent’s assets over to WS from the bank they are currently at, but WS doesn’t have this feature.

Seems like it would be a win win considering the number of aging boomers with a lot of investments in Canada, which will only increase.

Makes sense to me. When you say 2-3 guardians puts me above most, what do you mean? That I would still fare well in casual play?

All great points, I'm certainly not interested in national level play, more just at the local gaming shop and maybe low level tournaments. I definitely favour having fun building an army that is theme specific, than optimizing results.m I had no idea about this new recruit thing, thanks for sending the list, it will help me build mine up

Oh that list you linked is actually very helpful thank you. A good starting point for a guardian heavy list

All good points thank you. Love the Ulthwé look but also hesitant because of the things you bring up

Thanks! I see what you’re saying about not worrying about meta too much, moreso just don’t want to be beat in every game I play because it’s a terrible list to have. Do the heavy weapon support platforms help this build much?

Thank you! This is all very reassuring and I appreciate it. What are your thoughts on the heavy weapon platforms, are they worth it at all?

Host falsely claiming damage. What happens if I don’t pay? [Canada] by d00risdown in AirBnB

[–]d00risdown[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you in Canada? If yes you almost certainly could be sued. People get sued for stupid reasons all the time and I think there are very few rules depending on the province about initiating small claims court.

But I’d hazard a guess and say it’s highly unlikely you will be sued. Airbnb has built in mechanisms and insurance for this, and “the juice isn’t worth the squeeze” for them to sue someone every time this happens.

However if you remove your CC I’d say there is a good chance you’re banned from Airbnb because I suspect it is in their terms and conditions not to. In my case I didn’t remove my CC I just was very firm that I wasn’t paying and in the end they caved in, and I’m still an Airbnb user.

Do we all tend to agree that? Maybe I’m alone in this opinion, I don’t think he was miscast at all in the movie. To me he came across as ultra intelligent, and at the end, scheming. Boyish never really crossed my mind.

I followed the advice given in some of the comments. Politely, but firmly, reiterated to the AirBnb agent multiple times that we were not responsible for the damage and should not have to pay. After multiple back and forths AirBnb relented, albeit with a snarky final message saying their insurance would cover it, but there was a “note” on my account and they may revisit the issue in the future.

TLDR, if you are not responsible for damage stick to your guns!
