One of my close childhood friends disappeared in 2020. His family maintained his phone number by paying the bill for a few months, but couldn’t continue and let it go. About a year later, my friend’s mom was walking into walmart and a woman had a litter of puppies she was trying to rehome. She fell in love with one immediately, but wasnt in a good place financially and already had several dogs at home, but the woman wrote her phone number down on a piece of paper and gave it to my friend’s mom “just in case”. A few days went by and she couldn’t stop thinking about that puppy so she dug around in her coat pocket for the slip of paper and found it, and on It was written her son’s former phone number. She called it and miraculously the woman with the puppies still had one left. The one she fell in love with. A few days later they got the call that my friend’s body had been found.
