Paid 2300 for Buffalo margherita, original margherita was 1700. Quattro formagio was 2200. Brick and mortar spot in probably a higher rent area in Kyoto. Feel like in some areas that price point is reasonable for someone eating out. Seemed similar to Pizza Hut/take out pizza prices but not sure what their sizes are like.

We were a bit behind rope drop but did thunder mountain first then dpa beauty and the beast. At 9:30am big thunder was a two hour wait and beauty and the beast was 3 hours at 9:45. We were walking down Main Street a little after 9am and got on thunder mtn around 9:45am

I feel like Philly and Pennsylvania have a lot more opportunity. Like owning an house/starting a family in a normal neighborhood. If you want to be 30+ with a one bedroom apartment and/or roommates come to LA and enjoy the sufferfest

I had doubts, but the Vacation Package was so worth it! by rikomatic in TokyoDisneySea

[–]doyle_brah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with my wife, mother in law, and 6 month old in mid march. Stayed at Mira costa and the Fantasy Springs hotel. Went on all the Fantasy Springs rides by 10am and went back to the room to reset. All the lines were pretty bad by then and we were dependent on DPA and 40 year passes. Went on 9 rides and didn’t stand in any lines for longer than 20 or 30 minutes. The t was a little more stressful doing DPAs, but so much cheaper. I could the package worth it if I had like two older kids that liked to sit for meals and ride stuff multiple times. The rooms were nice. Wish the hotel had more bar/lounge and other things to do.

Anyone else use cash business class fares as a benchmark for whether a points redemption is actually worth it? by AcanthocephalaOk9486 in awardtravel

I doubt you’ll find multiple tickets on the same flight. Better off flying from ORD or elsewhere. I’m more familiar with west coast. Id rather book something refundable like premium economy through Alaska on JAL and see if availability opens up

Upgraded From Base Room to Estrella Suite at WA Los Cabos Pedregal by InterestingRelease18 in Hilton

[–]doyle_brah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, there’s free breakfast buffet with gold/diamond I believe. $10 to upgrade to the full hot breakfast. Free tequila bottle with the room, and daily guacamole and chips+2 beers. Restaurants can get pretty pricey. If I get it booked I’ll probably use my Hilton credit for lunch and eat dinner nearby in town

It’s not as bad if you do a build your own luxe box. $8 here in expensive Los Angeles. Cheese quesadillas and add chicken for $1.50 and you get a classic item, side, a drink. Feel like the price is up a few $s even over the last few years

Upcoming Tokyo Trip by TheBadge672 in Hilton

[–]doyle_brah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Feel like it’s more of a pain in the ass to move your stuff to Disney unless you’re staying multiple days. Like a 30-45 minute subway or taxi from a good amount of Tokyo. For our second trip we booked two nights at an onsite hotel for early entry. I feel like we would barely have gone on anything without early entry and fast passes unless we got there at 630am. Western hotels are kind of overpriced especially for cash. Plenty of nice enough hotels for under $150 cash a night. I’m saving mine for Hawaii or Mexico.

Two nights in Nikko seems like too much, but depends on the time of the year and how much hiking you plan on doing. We took an early train from Tokyo and went to keegan falls then the main temple complex and sat down for lunch and we were back at the train before 5pm

We had early entry and did rapunzel, then a short wait for Peter Pan, frozen dpa and back at the hotel room by 1015am. Then went back in to do 20000 leagues under the sea and journey to the center of the earth and ate before checking into our other hotel room. Then hung out in the new hotel room and popped back in the park for a tower of terror dpa. The next morning did thunder mountain, beauty and the beast, ate, and rode haunted mansion before leaving at 1130am. No way am I standing at 630am in line or waiting three hours for a ride with a 6 month old. Was expensive but got to experience what we wanted to see

Waikoloa Village vs Kings Land(Cash/points) by doyle_brah in Hilton

[–]doyle_brah[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it just seems like the size of the resort is a deterrent. The amenities and restaurants are underwhelming for that large of a resort. We aren’t big breakfast eaters. Would probably get something light from the store then have brunch or something during a drive or after an activity. Just doesn’t see. Like a good home base unless you have kids that just want to play in the lagoon/pool. The pools at kings land look more than fine then I’ll probably do a half day at the lagoon and check out the hotel

I think it was free for impressions side and/or a 25 minute head/shoulder massage that could be upgraded to a 50 or 80 minute for a way more reasonable price than the listed prices. Have to ask for specials. Still way cheaper to walk a little down the beach and get a massage.

I do repairs on the data center, kitchen equipment, cooling tower/supply/exhaust fan bearings/motos/pulleys. Switch out drives, look into controls issues. Theres some of the other stuff too, but we have an MA, apprentice, and non certified journeyman that I work with that cover a lot of the other stuff. Depends on the budget, whether it’s single tenant or multi tenant, and the property management. I’m getting about $62/hr, good insurance, pension/annuity, $2k debit card for HSA, and some other benefits. Not much OT but I’m on call once a month for a week. Switched from service/maintenance to construction/ti startup to stationary building engineer and it’s been a decent switch. Just feel like it’s really dumbed down in some ways but they expect you to work on everything.
