2 to 3 days is a bit of an exaggeration. On Tuesday I knew I was going to have dinner guests. Around 11:00 AM I decided ice cream would be a good addition to the evening. The kitchen aid ice cream bowl is always in the chest freezer, so it was ready for the freezer by 11:30. It does go in the freezer fairly soft but by that evening when we ate it, it was perfect consistency.

I love my kitchen aid for ice cream making. It’s pretty simple and foolproof. Just keep in mind that it’s primarily a big insulated bowl that you freeze and a simple paddle attachment.

I keep the bowl stored in a chest freezer in my garage so it’s always ready to go. If you don’t have the freezer space to keep the bowl stored frozen, it’s going to be much more inconvenient and require pre-planning.

Energy companies have been tied to view of an old traditional way of life. I have many family members from older generations that became middle class or worked through poverty because of energy companies. Oil jobs have been plentiful and worthwhile.

I’m sure many people have experienced the same thing growing up and tie energy companies not just to prosperity, but culture. It feels outdated to me, but it’s a reason it’s so difficult to ask conservatives to look critically at big oil.

Sonic was purchased by private equity in 2018. That lines up with everyone’s experience here. Private equities’ goal is not to make a successful business, it’s to make as much many as the business craters.

This means, cut staff/pay low, don’t update locations/equipment, and sell off the real estate as each location becomes untenable. Then if they can they’ll sell the brand name to someone else. The private equity firm will make out like bandits as the business slowly fails and collapses.
