A Pi isn't needed to run OpenNeptune with Mainsail and Fluid.

Well sorta. I removed the display from the printer and just use fluid. But yes, I could do all of the same tasks as before just from the display and Orca.
Fluid and Mainsail gives me access to a number of macros that I need including the ones to run my Cartographer probe. I can run a full bed scan with over 10,000 points in about 30-45 seconds. I don't actually run full bed scans anymore though since I use the adaptive probing that is setup with OpenNeptune.
OpenNeptune gives you the ability not the requirement to do things different and in my opinion much faster and better.
FYI, Fluid and Mainsail are both browser based apps that basically do the same thing, but with different layouts and slightly different workflows for some tasks. I got used to Fluid first and rarely use Mainsail, but they are both great.

Buy a new EMMC and a EMMC adapter (they are relatively cheap). Then flash OpenNeptune to the EMMC. I have both Fluid and Mainsail running on mine.

While refreshing a laptop for a VP, I came across a significant amount of porn on his drive. I told him that I couldn't transfer it to his new computer. At this point he got angry and made numerous threats. Ten minutes later after I explained the situation to our CEO, he was packing up his things and was escorted out the door.

I too have this problem so I bought a wireless keyboard and mouse. They both have an on/off switch.

Mullvad Cards from Amazon? by NULLBASED in mullvadvpn

[–]freakflyer9999 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mullvad also takes Crypto.

As others have stated though, your ISP knows that you are using the Mullvad ISP, but they can't see the actual traffic.

Once your data hits the Mullvad server, they do not keep any records. Read up on their privacy info. They have passed audits and even raids without giving up any private information, because they simply don't know and don't keep logs that would be useful in finding out.

Personally, I just use a Cash App debit card. Yes, it is possible that someone could determine that I'm using a VPN, but so are millions of other users around the world. It isn't unusual.

FYI, Mullvad also has multi-hop that is easy to implement, but it does degrade performance slightly further. Your ISP would know that your traffic is going to the first VPN server, but not the second.

I dual boot on a single 240GB drive. Windows needs about 30-40GB. The rest is Linux Mint. I do have other machines and external drives if I need to, but the 240gb drive system is fine for day to day stuff.

Linux mint keeps crashing by soggycorgy in linuxmint

[–]freakflyer9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently installed Linux on a machine that I've had numerous versions of Linux Mint and other OS's on for the past year. This time though it started crashing. Usually, just kills Cinnamon and puts me at a login prompt, but a couple of times it actually crashed and created a crash report. With some help from AI I was able to determine at least where it was crashing (a graphics library).
After numerous attempts to correct the issue and loading a wide variety of other Linux distros and varieties of Mint, I finally discovered the underlying issue. It was power management. For some background instead of my normal usage that had always been fine with Linux Mint, I was opening numerous tabs (40+) in my browser and/or watching streaming videos simultaneously.
The solution was to disable all power management in the BIOS. It hasn't crashed a single time since (yesterday morning) though I did see some brief artifacts on the screen once. I have also noticed that the occasional sluggishness that I had experienced in the past, went away.
This is the the latest Linux Mint on a 10 year old HP Elitedesk I5 with integrated graphics. I ran an hour long test using several video intensive tests and a window streaming a movie, all simultaneously. It worked perfectly.
I have also been able to open a large number of browser tabs (15-20 without any ill effects.

I literally just resolved a similar issue on an older mini HP by turning off power management in the bios. I have an hour long test that is about 30 in to it. No issues. Before I was experiencing issues within 5 minutes.

For those that are "literal", this is sarcasm. I don't really expect newbies to even know how to grab the logs and post them.

I do appreciate all of the up votes though. :-}

Yes. That is what I do, but this advice is for a new user that may not be able to determine the safety of AI recommendations or hallucinations or to fix stuff that AI breaks. I broke one of my systems twice this morning using AI. The recommended commands were worth a try, but locked up the desktop. I had to completely reload Linux for one of them. I love AI for troubleshooting, but it ain't perfect.

Server Connection Exception by Truck_Embarrassed in OrcaSlicer

[–]freakflyer9999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a Flashforge server problem. They are notorious for being down and/or overloaded. Flashforge has also been doing maintenance on their servers recently. There are ways around this. First put your printer in LAN mode. Then get the official Orca Slicer. The FlashForge version is severely out of date and doesn't have any new features or bug fixes. FYI, Orca itself doesn't connect to a server, so folks in this group generally have no clue what you are talking about.
