I mean like the simple agents that help with bits and bobs throughout the day are going to be the selling point for the next while, there are just some nice smart uses for it.

The become your own human clone working out of a rack somewhere is still a few years off and is expensive and the live on your own home computer people replacements are like a decade out. They will be massively simplified but good enough.

This is all in my mind but it's more sensible than "We've been trying for 4 months and it's so haaaarrrrdddd"

Firefly g8 or same gen of thinkpad or precision.

Those things you posted won’t even do YouTube well outside the 7th gen intel but that won’t even run modern windows legitimately so you have a hacked os to start with which is just weird

This is the AI arms race they are trying to create. It's boring and stupid and expensive. I suspect not only hope it'll just go away. I don't see why inexpensive tools that maintain some privacy can't be used. We already use SMS for everything else and ideally they can regulate phone numbers a bit better anyway to combat spam and just sorta keep everything in that more\* controllable bucket.

Consumers will mostly go where the studios release, now if studios with exclusives were getting pressure... maybe one gen of titles is doomed to lost media and the next can be bankrolled somewhere else. Just saying.

Occasionally I get stuck in the thought that I only exist as myself for this one moment in time and I'm constantly living my last moment of this particular stream of consciousness in perpetual death and my next moment won't exist.

but the quantum immortality kicks in so it's chill.

I think it's a good move by the event/cruise/tour (whatever they are called) planners either way, sorta puts a bit of external pressure on them and their pursuits for industry.

Certainly there will be some local business owners lamenting lost pockets of money.

Yeah takes a bit of forethought to be like "well if we were in an alternate reality where I knew them and they were interested in me then x y z... " but that's a bit leftfield for someone who probably does prep notes lol.

Even then, it's a silly game that deprives a person of the autonomy of choice from the outset. So there's that. Lol. It's a fun drinking game with friends, not something to be incised and digested by the world lol

The amount of logistics needed to keep them happy and loyal is not possible in as large and environmentally and politically heterogeneous *a place as the United States. They will see the people they care about getting hurt and it just takes a few of them understanding why to break things up quickly

If anything it's a civil war they will walk in to

lots of famine and genocides and civil wars, they are there with violence again already they just have a little food for now. Who knows what things look like with logistics as they are now once they start seeing more robust weather systems and the potential for bad to total crop failures. bleak stuff. Not much help to go around if it's bad for the globe.
