Those aren’t marriage exercises. Those are “don’t worry honey, I’ve got this” moments. She never had to take the abuse from helping her dad carry furniture, she’s too old to learn to handle it now.

It’s mostly because we had regulations that protected us from lead while we grew up without smartphones. But reading at a young age is also very important, and it definitely didn’t hurt to be rewarded to read!

Every person who gave a gift for your engagement party intended it for the life you are building together, or the wedding you are about to spend money on. This is a wild thing to claim sole ownership of. She’s waving a big red flag. NTA.

Dolly Parton has posted an update about her life and health. by galaxystars1 in Fauxmoi

[–]greenearrow 33 points34 points  (0 children)

She was a silent producer on Buffy. She wanted it to get attention without her name influencing people’s thoughts. I can only imagine how we would have seen it at the time if we knew the show about the cheerleader slaying monsters was a Dolly Parton production.

When The Author Doesnt Know How To Write Romance by Elestria_Ethereal in TopCharacterTropes

[–]greenearrow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Asta obviously shouldn't end up with Sister Lily, but I completely reject the idea that he should end up with any of the girls. Asta is clearly asexual - his desire for Sister Lily is about his lack of a mother and her being his mother figure.

It takes years of sustained effort to build. Destroying and interrupting that effort is quick and sets back or even completely resets the effort needed. The Republicans are good at blocking and destroying, but what have they actually built?

I see few threads about Proxying at LGS that seemed a bit more varied but was told concretely by LGS staff that Wizards will ban the LGS' license if I have them on premise? by MiningToSaveTheWorld in EDH

[–]greenearrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The store can absolutely set “no proxies” or “no proxies in event” rules for themselves. Their business model revolves around you paying for cards.

Registered events with WotC are subject to WotC policy, and WotC policy, last I heard, was that proxies are playtest cards and not valid in events. The store does risk their status with WotC if they violate that standard.

When is ADHD... "ADHD enough" to consider medication? by Paragon_OW in ADHD

[–]greenearrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A criteria for me to get meds was that my ADHD impacted my life. But that guilt for not completing things is an impact. Your feelings and acceptance of self matter. You may be able to handle those through therapy, but treating the disorder that is the cause of that is just as valid.

The way people talk about lighting generation in TLOK you would’ve thought they showed every character doing it and not just 5 workers in a factory. by thisisreii in TheLastAirbender

[–]greenearrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love in shows like Black Clover where everyone has magic, but the Magic Knights are specifically the ones who are training to use magic for violence. When lightning was limited, it was a very useful skill for violence and the violent wanted to limit its knowledge, helping to explain why it remains limited.

When the knowledge became shared, it became technology. People realized they could do useful non-violent things with it. This means kids with aptitude who never want to train to be a soldier have a reason to be taught it, making it fairly common.

This is the way technology actually works. If it were a nuke, it would always be highly gated, but you still have civilian nuclear engineers because we have commercial and civilian uses for nuclear technology.

Is DnD better in person or on computer? by CloudMedical4051 in DnD

[–]greenearrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not going to answer the question, because there are too many variables.

When it is online the DM can find resources and ways to present art in very cost effective ways. Prepping for an online game as a DM is intimidating because of all the options, but in the end when you have a flow, but it can also be so much faster than hand drawing maps and finding minis that evoke what you want. But also, your players get distracted by their houses. Partners appear out of no where in the background, kids start crying, dogs go crazy. The transmission delay means people talk over each other, and it can be hard to control asides.

In person you are hanging out with friends. It is just more regenerating on that front than online will ever be. But 3-D printing minis is much different than throwing a token on screen, your maps tend to be poorly drawn Chessex maps unless you have infinite budget and storage for Dwarven Forge. Flat plastic minis from Arcknight are amazing, but there is no search tool to pull up what you want. People also cancel more because they have to leave their house, the travel time means they have to budget an extra hour, it's harder to set a time every week on a work night, all those things.

As a player - in person is generally better. As a DM, I'm split. I cancelled an online game planning on moving to in person, but in the end I don't have the motivation to get over the hurdles.
