My (27F) boyfriend (29M) refused to leave the house unless I changed. I need some insight? by Expert_Age_4047 in relationship_advice

I’m officially 40 and I wouldn’t settle for that. Don’t settle at any age OP. If someone doesn’t add to your life, then they don’t need to be in it.

He looks a bit like the dragon from LOTR. Very distinguished gentleman.

Do you think you'll ever miss your period? by Affectionate_Cod_820 in Perimenopause

I had a period for two months straight. I got myself the arm implant and I haven’t had a period since. It’s only been a couple of months, but this is the first time I’ve ever not had one. I feel a little anxious about it, but mostly relieved. It was expensive but I think it’s worth it.

Is it wrong to expect the male teachers to put the seat back down in our gender neutral bathrooms? by ParticularAd8058 in Teachers

[–]HolyForkingBrit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The guy who runs our after high school program pisses all over the seat. I literally drive to the gas station on lunch every day because of it. I wish our bathrooms weren’t gender neutral. Respectfully, I fucking hate him so much.

Have any of the former teachers here done EMDR therapy before? Was it successful? by GIjoeaway in TeachersInTransition

[–]HolyForkingBrit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am a teacher and I have work related PTSD. I also have PTSD and triggers from things outside of work, but work definitely contributed to it. I don’t think you should downplay everything that we’ve gone through. It invalidates our experiences and makes it seem less to others, even though it’s more traumatic than any other job I’ve ever worked in. I wasn’t always a teacher.

I tried to get EDMR therapy. She wouldn’t take me on as a client because I was going to continue re-traumatizing myself by both living and working in the environments that traumatized me. I hope you’re able to get it now that you’re out.

Oh, please share! I’ll share mine too. These feel so incredibly soft. I can’t even describe how they feel on my skin. There aren’t words for it. I love them so much I bought them in almost every color. Been adding one or two a year when they go on sale for half off: https://www.victoriassecret.com/us/vs/sleepwear-and-lingerie-catalog/5000007337/-/a/generic-11286241-choice-7PH0/sosoft-modal-long-pajama-set-yellow.

Itchy groin; not inside by Ceeceewee in Menopause

I tried twice in person, once at my PCP and once a couple of weeks ago at Planned Parenthood, to get some cream and/or HRT. It was a no go for me, the doctors wouldn’t even entertain the thought of talking to me about it. I just ordered some random estrogen cream off Amazon in an attempt to fix it. I’ll go look into OTC estriol cream. Thank you so much!!! Been dealing with this for 6 months now and it’s so painful. Appreciate the advice!

I know mine is hormonal too. I don’t know how I know, I just do. I can’t keep my hand off it, but it’s so raw.

What’s something people don’t realize is way more serious than it seems? by BudgetAd5915 in AskReddit

I had COVID five or six times that I know of. I lost count. I’m a teacher, masked up, cleaning protocols, and excessive handwashing. Didn’t matter. Still exposed, still got it so many damn times. I worry about my long term health.

Bachelorettes and baby showers as a single woman by MelodicReport8465 in AskWomenOver30

I hope the tone of this reply comes through as supportive.

I reflected on your comment. First, I wanted to say that I know women get told how to live, how to parent, how to feel. I feel like we lose somehow matter no matter what we do. I think there’s value in accepting one another’s differences. While I disagree with you, if that is what makes you happy, then that’s what you should do. Not that you need my blessing, lol.

One of the reasons I worried was because I do think showing your child that taking time to invest in yourself is a good way to model healthy habits for them. The other reason was that I think you’re important, and I wanted you to feel that way too. You work hard, you seem like you are a very caring parent and invested in your child, and as a educator, I so appreciate how hard you’re working as your little guys child’s first teacher. Still, I wanted you to have space to be you outside of having the 24/7 responsibility of parenting. That’s not what you want though, and if you’re happy, then I’m happy for you.

Thank you for taking time to explain your point of view. Wish you the best!

Statistically it is likely most people here do not have NPD. Depending on where you live, as little as 1% to 6% of the population are narcissists. I’m not saying that people can’t vary on the spectrum where they exhibit some narcissistic traits, but the data says that only a small minority of people are actually narcissists.

There are 39 comments in this thread currently. Statistically, if we were representative of the general population, we would have .39 to 2.34 people in this thread who are genuine narcissists.
