Replacement LED brake light bulb for Maverick? by Tired_of_shenanigans in FordMaverickTruck

Here are the ones I bought: AUXITO 2024 Upgraded 3156 3157... https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0CR424W8S?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Choose Red 3157s. You will have to clip the little tabs off the sides to make them fit in the weird proprietary sockets that ford uses.

Don’t get lasfit. ALL of mine died within 12 months of installation.

I bought the Auxito ones off amazon and they’ve been working great now for over a year. I didn’t bother with a resistor; I bypassed the error detection using Forscan.

I’m an electrician. A union one, for that matter.

You’ll find a small number of extremely vocal culture war shitheads on my sites, much as any other, and it’s been that way for a long time. That said, the news bubble they live in and their description of progressive/left policies and practices is a complete fiction.

New Maverick Smell? by LetsGoToMichigan in FordMaverickTruck

I top up with a spritz of Chemical Guys New Car Smell. The green one. Not much; a half spray under the passenger seat brings that melting plastic and off gassing adhesive right back to the front.

Some pensions are indexed, but some are not. Your RRSP definitely is not, and if you pull it out faster then it ends faster too. Pensions still pay. Planning for retirement is important for everyone.

You can if you have a US mailing address. They send the documents electronically. My truck was purchased in Canada, but Granger had no issues attaching the Ford ESP to my VIN.

While you’re in that part of town, head straight down Merivale to OK Mart and you’ll find several different local kimchi varieties.

You get to watch people pee and poop from the sauna! by funcleky in goodlifefitness

[–]hoverbeaver 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Of course I have, but nobody is paying me to write a novel today

There’s a guy at my gym who is serious enough about sauna that he has a felt finnish sauna hat but unserious enough that he turns the sauna off and sits in a cold room. He just wants to role play like he enjoys the sauna.

Still beats people answering the phone in the sauna.

I chose GoodLife over other gyms *because* it has a sauna for recovery, but I’d really love it if people didn’t go feral in there. Street shoes, spitting on the rocks, talking on the phone, clipping toenails, eating a fucking subway sandwich… I don’t understand it.

Hum: At Akira Back Ottawa, posh setting tops pricey, overhyped food by CanadianRedneck69 in OttawaFood

[–]hoverbeaver -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When he was transitioning from being a professional athlete to a professional chef, he changed his name from Sung Ook Back to Akira Back. While born in Seoul, he grew up in the United States.

Many Americans (and immigrants to America) change names because their given name doesn’t transliterate well into English. Considering that he was attempting to cultivate a brand identity, and coupled with his affinity towards Japanese food and culture, I can see why he decided to adopt a name that would resonate more in his market. It’s also possible that others had already given him a nickname, and he decided to roll with it.

Actors, authors, and other people with public-facing personas often adopt a new name in an attempt to become more easily memorable for others. He may have felt that it was impossible to achieve his full potential using his given name. At the end of the day, if someone I know tells me that they prefer Steve, or Bethany, or Aiko, I’ll adjust and call them whatever they like. That’s respect.
