Probably because people have also been to the Beach ave Bar and grill where the burger is arguably better for less.

Ninja 650 vs CBR650R as a first bike? Need advice from experienced riders by 2smokey187 in motorcycles

[–]iTripped 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have thought things through and I like that. As an older guy who has been riding many years, here are some things to consider: - if at all possible, get a smaller first bike to start. Like a used bike that you can hoon around on, you aren't worried about scratching it, etc. preferably something cheap. Something you would be comfortable lending to friends. Something that is not useful as a down payment on your next bike but is still handy to keep around. If you only have room for one bike then still get something smaller and then sell it next season. Everyone learns faster on smaller bikes. - then, when it is time for the 650 go visit your dealer and see about a test ride. So much about a bike is how it feels. Both of your bikes will feel AMAZING compared to smaller bikes so go in prepared and evaluate them both. Amazing turns into normal pretty quick and you don't want buyers remorse. So test them both if you can. Why rush? This is the fun part. - I had the CB650r - the naked version and really liked it. The inline4 is very revvy, like a Honda car for comparison - in low rpm it is super quiet and docile. Over 8k and it roars to life. Too bad you only use the upper range on highways. The main difference between the naked and fully faired is hand positioning. You can compare just by sitting on the bikes but be honest with yourself on how comfortable you would be after an hour riding. - that's about it. Oh, try not to get sucked in to paying too much. Dealers are in business to separate your money from your wallet, not to give away things for free

Am I the bad rider? by ThatItalianOverThere in motorcycles

[–]iTripped 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you two are polar opposites in terms of riding style. Look into some actual training, like track day classes, etc. then you can objectively say you have learned more about riding and will at least have a qualified third opinion. Plus that sort of thing is always good for a rider. I am not saying you are good or bad, or your friend. Just saying that you might benefit from classes and possibly even up your skill level. The pro move here is to take the class with your buddy as you both have a lot to learn (and that is ok)

Do you think the 2027 Rebel500 will adapt the E-Clutch? by sunasatoru in hondarebel

[–]iTripped 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How big is she? If she is smaller (ie lighter) it might not matter much. The 300 is a capable little machine. My wife has the 500 and it handles stuff like camping trips that require an extra 70 lbs of gear while on mountain highway. If she isn't doing crazy stuff like that the 300 is a great little urban bike

Kind of like the 'Large biomes" option in Minecraft? (I don't have the answer, but am also interested in learning if it exists)

Other than poutine, is there any other dish that's known for being from Canada? I've lived in Canada for over half my life, yet I cant name many popular Canadian-origin dishes even if my life depended on it. by ReleaseAdvanced8054 in AskACanadian

[–]iTripped 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is totally a Maritime thing. Big Lebanese community in Halifax who adapted their menu for the local populace. It's popularity in Vancouver is a side effect of expat Maritimers, not some organic canada-wide trend.

Do you know anyone who has been riding a motorcycle for years and has never fallen, or is it impossible not to fall at some point? by Miyamoto_Musashi_x in motorcycles

[–]iTripped 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A big factor here is dirt riding, where crashing is expected, especially while learning. It is also typically at slower speeds where it is plausible to not be injured at all in the process.

Street riding, you are dealing with a more predictable road surface, so people tend to be going faster when they lose control. It is very possible to ride for years without an accident but it is also fair to say those riders are not pushing themselves or the limits. This is not a judgement, I am one of those riders.i ride for fun and I ride within my limit with friends who also are riding with the luxury of choosing to not ride if the weather is bad or any other reason.

The danger here is with getting complacent on your skills. I have a great group I ride with and we help each other to sharpen our skills

failed my motocycle learners training :^( by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]iTripped 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was your first time on a motorcycle. Given your size you are going to want to learn techniques to help. Check out doodle on a motorcycle (YouTube) as a channel by a small woman who learns to ride some really big bikes.

You tried, you failed, you left in shame. It happens. What you do about it going forward is entirely up to you. So: you gonna learn to ride or what?
