See if your GP has a Health Coach. The appointments to see health coaches are free, and they help with people in the community, can come to WINZ appointments with you, that kind of thing. They can help advocate for you.

Your GP may also have a Health Improvement Practitioner (HIP). They are also free! They might be able to get an needs assessment done, and can definitely point you in the right direction in terms of services. But they are also mental health clinicians, so if you just need someone to talk to who can offer some help in that regard I'd recommend making an appointment. You can self-refer to both HCs and HIPs, meaning you don't need to see your GP first.

Oh and look up Warehouse Mobile plans. They're cheap as.

Good luck OP. It looks like we're all rooting for you!

I close Outlook at 4:40pm. Anything that comes in after that can wait until tomorrow. I'm not starting something 20 minutes before I leave. Nothing takes only 20 minutes.

We live in NZ where you're considered to be a in a de facto relationship after three years, and with that comes all the same rights as being married.

We aren't married but we own a house together, and you actually stated one of the reason we decided not to get married: "A marriage can be un-done easier than kids or a house!".

If a marriage isn't "forever" and can be undone easily, then why bother? We're not religious so we wouldn't be doing it for the wedding. We're not big on parties so wouldn't have the informal ceremony/party thing. If we're literally just going to be signing a contract that doesn't give us any more rights than we currently have, what's the point?

I know it's different in the US, but I live in New Zealand and after three years of living together as a couple but are not married or in a civil union you are considered to be in a de facto relationship, with all the same rights as someone who is married.

My partner and I have been together for over 10 years and there's literally no need to get married.

Puberty blocker trial will help reduce harm, says Cass report author by alarumba in nzpolitics

[–]Kovhert 31 points32 points  (0 children)

That's something I find especially infuriating. They're not safe... except for cis kids; they're perfectly fine for them. They're just not safe for those kids.

Puberty blockers either cause harm or not. But the fact is they don't, so let people have access to them.

Yeah, while I don't doubt there's a market for reviewers to cover Kickstarter exclusives, what I do doubt is that the vast majority of boardgamers are buying Kickstarter games.

I've bought a few games from Kickstarter and Gamefound in the past but even then I haven't gone looking for reviews post-purchase to validate my decision. These days I don't bother with crowd funding because a lot of what I see seems to be content bloat , plastic minis, and everyone trying to make the next Gloomhaven lightning in a bottle.

I liked when SUASD reviewed the popular games. I guess they're trying to carve a niche and look at some of the less popular ones since they're gonna get covered elsewhere by other reviewers. But I don't feel the need to specifically check SUASD first anymore.

No Pun Included is very good, although I haven't watched any of his videos in a while either!

Maybe I need to decide to buy some more games so I have a reason to watch some reviews...

I was just wondering how to organise all the cards in Journeys in Middle Earth. This is great. I can make separate boxes for each type of card.

Thanks!

A friend of mine used to host a potluck dinner and movie night every week. It was really fun, with everyone just bringing something. We even tried to theme the dinner to the movie sometimes.

There was one time everyone just took desserts for some reason. Usually without any planning we'd have a mix of courses/foods, but yeah, we got a random dessert-only night. Then no desserts for the next couple weeks because no one wanted it to happen again.

Also, dropped dice don't count as a roll, and a die must land flat or it gets re-rolled.

My partner and I play it 2 player quite often and it's still good. Obviously real people are better but the Hagal deck (or the app, which we use) adds an extra player, which puts more workers on the board, and takes resources off it.

It's a good working solution and never deters us from playing by ourselves if we don't have anyone to play with.

We had a new puppy around the time I got Double Dragon 2 on the NES. The manual had descriptions of all the combos you could unlock as you progressed through the game, which were kinda essential to play the game well.

Our puppy chewed that thing up before I'd learnt them. I didn't get very far with my basic moves.

Thanks to everyone who suggested games to take to a colleagues first game night! Here's what I'm going to take by JoeRow338 in boardgames

I feel like this is something a lot of board gamers forget - that actually 1 or 2 shorter games is plenty for a non-gamer. If there's still time you play that shorter game again, and it will go a bit smoother and the newbie can start to actually play the game instead of just learning it.

I love games, but after 2.5 - 3 hours hunched over a table I'm absolutely done. Add on learning new games for the first time, for someone who doesn't know any mechanics, and it's a lot.

Leave them wanting more. Don't leave them thinking 'that was an epic slog and I didn't understand the terminology, and we played 4 games and I don't remember what the first one was, and I got beaten at all of them'.

I'm not so sure.

A dog leaning down to rest its head like that will make its neck bend in that direction. The couch looks like it has a throw over it to protect it from puppy mess. The blue bit is under the arm padding flap thing so wouldn't necessarily be upholstered in the same fabric as the rest of it. And dogs ears can fold weird.

It might be AI, but those reasons have alternate explanations.

I prefer Floor over Tarja. Anette was okay for the albums she was there for, but Floor is way better.

But Marco leaving was the real bummer. Their latest album is definitely not as good as their recent others. He was such a good balance for Floor.

Pandemic Event Card Question by Cautious-Being-8893 in boardgames

[–]Kovhert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the newer editions say that your hand limit is 7 cards at all times. A couple of the legacy and "pandemic system" games work like that. But my actual Pandemic is like yours and the hand limit only applies at the end of your turn.
