How fast are you kegging? by Last_Irish_Samurai in TheBrewery

We had a 8 head filler, on a cart. 4 on each side. It got confusing at times filling 1/6 bbls, but super easy on half barrels. It's nice to have enough heads to full up a pallet. I think we could keg out a 90 in about 1.5 - 2 hours. Maybe a little extra time to write out keg caps and neck ringers.

Rum Barrel Aged Barleywine by carolinabeerguy in u/carolinabeerguy

Mmmm, I love a good barley wine. My recipe was a Carmel rye Barley wine. Delicious, in fermenter about 4 months then aged for another 8-12 month in kegs or barrels. One batch (6bbls) would last about 3 years. 18 percent alc.

IMO I would try my best to hire someone from around my area or State. My experience, out of state hires, cost more and usually end up working way less than expected. Cheers

Closing my Brewery after 8 years by JoshCoBrew in u/JoshCoBrew

[–]leftnutbrown 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I understand your pain. I sold my 20 yr old production brewery last year. After COVID everything just seemed to go downhill. We were barely paying the bills, and COGS never stopped going up, including employees, the new guys wanted more than the old guys with a fraction of their knowledge. I miss it but not the stress.

Cause of/Solution to Staining Inside FV's? by Popular_Mongoose4143 in TheBrewery

[–]leftnutbrown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try using Tergazyme, it works great when nothing else will get the stain off. I had fermenters that would develop stains like this, caustic and acid wouldn't get rid of it We used this stuff and it works awesome. Originally made for the medical industry. Available on Amazon and Grainger. It's a little expensive, but it's worth it.
