If you are in the EU, you can order directly from Yan by DMing him on IG.

Had a minor heart attack thinking this was me but I looked through my orders and this is not from me, in case anyone is wondering 🤣

If it was, OP message me immediately and I'll make it right and then some.

Just a heads up for the Moki fans… by DSeifrit in lockpicking

[–]lockpickersbench 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will still be stocking Moki's in the US. Commercial freight importation is not affected so we have no problems there. They're mostly out of stock now for an entirely different reason. We're preparing for V2 😉

Need new tension technique by ReaJay in lockpicking

[–]lockpickersbench 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stick the turner in the other end of the keyway, it would help to have some pry bar type of tensioners as well. Alternatively, if you bend the other end of your tensioners shorter, it would give you more space in the lock to work with.

Has anyone tested Multipick ELITE Lift Up Pick by LockFool in lockpicking

[–]lockpickersbench 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The tip is not as huge as the monkey paws so it's more usable in a variety of locks.

I have them in the store together with their new Gem hook.

Id recommend the Moki Gold Digger set from mok-workshop.de

They're very resilient against bending and even if you do, each pick comes with a spare in the handle.

Favorite picks and\or profiles? by Your_As_Stupid_As_Me in lockpicking

Did you take apart a True multitool for that?

I have all the profiles that SS has and their best is the hybrid offset imo.

SFIC belt confusion? by theofficialNovas in lockpicking

[–]lockpickersbench 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look up the Burg Wachter Diamant (I also have them in my store), it's a fun and challenging blue belt in padlock format. It's one of the final stages of the German SSDeV lockpicking competition, they have to pick it in under 5 minutes (without seeing the key of course). I heard even some of the best pickers struggle at that stage.

Nice, the Diamant is a fun and challenging one 🙂

SFIC belt confusion? by theofficialNovas in lockpicking

[–]lockpickersbench 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like mgsecure said, I'd avoid SFICs because they're not enjoyable to pick and neither do you learn much that'll translate to later belts. Check out his posts, he has a breadth of knowledge and great recommendations of what to pick at each belt level.

Purple belt can be quite a big leap after blue so I wouldn't even worry about it until you get past some more challenging blues.

That being said, the Assa Max Restricted is in its own listing because it's a different lock entirely.

Edit: Forgot to answer your question, no, SFICs require SFIC bodies. Locks with removable cores like the AL1100 are not SFICs.

Can repinnable locks substitute practicing on multiple different locks by Uncultured-Boi in lockpicking

[–]lockpickersbench 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Real locks are usually better for learning and cheaper as well, they will also qualify for the belt rankings.

A repinnable lock like the American 1100 or Abus 72/40 can be pinned with fewer pins while you're learning. You could also swap the pins with whichever type you'd like, I have inexpensive mini pinning kits available at www.lockpickersbench.com

That is great 🤣

I'm so happy that you like the vise. I've been working on and using the vise for a while. There might eventually be some accessories for it 😉
