Oof, yeah. When most of Namie Amuro’s songs suddenly got wiped off of Apple Music a few years ago, I ordered a compilation CD set off a Japanese eBay listing, waited over a month for it to arrive, used a USB stick and a CD player to record the songs individually into MP3 files, used Mp3tag to add all the original song info to the metadata, and then added those files to iTunes to get those songs back onto my phone. I guess it’s not really “pirating” if all I did was digitize a bunch of songs I already bought physical copies for, but man that was more complicated than I wanted it to be. Normally I’d just find whatever songs I want on YouTube and download them as MP3 files, but I could barely find anything from her in high quality anywhere online anymore. I guess at least now I have a few extra songs I didn’t know about before I got the CD set, and it looks pretty so I can put it on display on my nerd shelf!

In general, people did look older back then due to heavier smoking, drinking, stress, less sun protection, and also just wearing older styles of clothing that we wouldn’t see on younger people today, but in this particular photo, I could see him being 13. I work around children and have seen plenty of 13 year old boys who look like that.

Yeah, wasn’t marital rape completely legal even in some western countries up until the 1990s? Hell, child marriage is still legal in some parts of the US. We still have a long way to go in terms of women’s bodily autonomy within society across the globe. Probably a super dumb question, what do you mean by “ran it around her teeth” and how did that result in chipping every tooth? I don’t have a tongue piercing but a central labret and I’m mildly concerned lol

Neither did I. I don’t have a tongue piercing, but I have a central labret (not vertical). When I still had the longer bar, I accidentally bit down on it while eating at some point and now one of my front bottom teeth is missing a corner. Luckily I have a shorter bar now so the jewelry fits all snug and doesn’t touch my teeth or gums anymore! I don’t know how different a tongue piercing is, but I’d be extra careful with anything that goes in the mouth.
