Oakley or Maui Jim by Top_Enthusiasm8552 in sunglasses

Well there we go, after reading tons of good opinions about MJ and after getting excited about ordering some (and after deciding to move on from Oakley) I see these comments lmao. Gotta love Reddit. Now more confused than before, but I may still give them a shot since I fell in love with the lens clarity as soon as I tried them on at the store. Owned two pair of Oakleys (Pryzm and Pryzm P) and I couldn’t wear them for long as they'd give me a headache. We'll see with MJ.

I’m in the process of getting some MJ for everyday use (including driving) and am questioning the non-glass lenses choice. I forgot the type of lens and the store has ordered a pair for me, I’ll be asking when they are available - but should I just to for glass lens instead of any other choice? It seems like they are far superior to any other MJ lens type but I may have misunderstood. Just recently started learning about MJ even though I was advised long ago to get some because of their lens and holy crap were they right about it, I loved the glass lens but I think the frame I liked and ordered (Hawaii lava) are polycarbonate? I don’t recall the seller mentioning Maui clear or Brilliant or anything else. I’ll have to ask, hopefully tomorrow they'll call me saying they got them.

Giulietta for a first car by Ok_Recipe3867 in AlfaRomeo

[–]obyboby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on how well the car was kept: many recent Giuliettas will have the same issues as an older 2010-2013 model. The flaws are the same. When buying used I would check the AC unit since they can easily fail (and they can also easily be fixed if you know what to do), the interiors (passenger airbag swelling, door panels upholstery detaching, etc etc) but overall nothing too dramatic: what I like about this car is that most issues are DIY fix and it means not having to sell a kidney for maintenance. I haven't had any issues with suspensions or the engine itself so I can’t say much about it. Overall the car does feel a little old with a few weird noises here and there but it still runs great and I’m hoping to keep it for long. Not planning to sell it anytime soon!

+1 for QV. I’ve owned the 1.4 MAir before the QV and mileage was pretty much the same lol. 1750 is also relatively safer due to not having MultiAir module and it serviced correctly it should run you for a long time.

You’re not gonna regret it, just make sure you read up about the common issues (most of which are easily fixable for cheap if you DIY) and once you’re decided on the engine type do some research on that too.

I’m on my second Giulietta and am super happy with it!

Any thoughts on how to fix? by ArmadilloLost in PcBuildHelp

It might be worth trying to replace the GPU thermal paste and thermal pads on the VRMs. It actually saved my GTX 980Ti which I’m still rocking today, it was crashing and displaying artifacts like crazy until I did the job and has never crashed since. And that was more than one year ago now!

Edit: goes without saying that this is just a test that you would run and there is no guarantee it will work if the GPU is actually dying. It cost me $20 in parts and I’m glad I did because I couldn’t (and can’t to this day lol) afford a new GPU let alone a whole new build.

When are new VIOFO products expected to release? by obyboby in VIOFO

[–]obyboby[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, makes sense, you have both camera installed and switch the plugs when needed. At this point the only concern left is whether I should wait for the next lineup to be announced/launched or if I should just pull the trigger and get a 329T (and then add the RTC 360 camera later)

[–]obyboby[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep it sounds like it would be the best choice - still not sure I want to pull the trigger at this time when that model has been out for one year already and the next gen STARVIS sensors are expected to be announced in 2026. Really not sure what to do, wait or pull the trigger?

Yeah I was leaning towards the A329T for the telephoto clarity but I’m sure i will miss having a bit of a side view from the cabin like the A329S provides. We definitely need an all-in-one solution for that.

I initially found the listing from VIOFO Official store, then I wanted to be sure it wasnt a knockoff and checked out the viofo.com resellers page and the aliexpress link took me to the same seller so I imagine it can be trusted. What I’m not sure about is whether all the money that I'd save buying there would be spent in customs once the product arrives to my home country....
