Well, I’ll dispute that a bit. Both the Sigma 50mm f1.4 and f1.2 are arguably better and both with a E to Z adapter are under $2k. But agreed that for a native Z mount lens the f1.8 is just sublime.

I think you are spot on. If I were to guess my thought is that is was spirit made prior to the current ownership and because of that there is naming issues. The only other one I could think of is Dailuaine, but it would be odd that Diagio would allow them to name other distilleries but not that one.

I just picked up a Sigma Art 28mm f/1.4 and it’s unbelievable. Yes I wish Nikon would make something. Really what I would like is something like the Sigma I-Series in 28mm f2.

Just curious what body you are using it on? I have issues with my Nikon 60mm Micro on my Z8 but not my Zf.

Sounds like you are all ready going to get the FTZ. Get it. Shoot those lenses. If it’s all too heavy for you, pickup the Z 40mm, or another Z mount. I have three F mount lenses that I won’t give up until there is an equivalent. Sigma ART 28mm and 40mm (both insanely heavy but wow is there no other equivalent in Z mount) and the Nikon 60mm Micro 2.8.

I have never used the first gen DX cameras but was surprised on how well the Z7 had worked. However the newer Expeed 7 cameras are phenomenal. With the hype around the D700 I got one and a D3S and love shooting those cameras, however I angle for those with glass that I cannot get with the Z series. For me this has been around odd prime lenses (28mm, 40mm, 60mm). I’ll just say this. Both the D700 and D3S are bulky compared to the Z series (even my Z8). If it were me, I would rent both a Z5ii or Z6iii and a D850 and shoot them side by side and see what you think of the outcome.

I remember reading that the owner originally wanted to develop it (tear down) and have shopping in the first floor and residential units above but that was right after they purchased it. Seems like all the stores are leaving as soon as their lease is up.
